We stayed at Carlton september 2011 and enjoyed it very much. The hotel is old but very well kept.Keep in mind that the hotels in B.A. usually get more stars than deserve, so if you see 4 stars it means it is a three star...More
Nice hotel that ticks all the boxes required of a 4-star in that price category. Reasonably sized rooms with all the usal bits and pieces and very centrally loated just a few yards away from the shopping area of Santa Fe Avenue in the Libertad...More
Good hotels can be pricey in BA. This one is a god value. Very clean, good English spoken and very friendly. Really good location. Breakfast buffet is only decent, at best, but you should be going out for great coffee and medialunas anyway...

Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with
ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
My wife and I are arriving Buenos Aires on Thursday, February 12th and staying till Sunday, February 15th. We are going to the falls and will return for an overnight on the 17th of February. Departing by ship on the 18th. Can we store our luggage during the interim?
