The location is great. The rooms are rather poorly equipped (no easy way to charge your electronics) but they do have a very good shower. Avoid rooms facing the back of Palacio Paz, where currently a very noisy construction is taking place every day between 7AM and 5PM. The breakfast is good for one day, but if you stay there... More

The location is great for a sightseeing trip. The room was not very luxurious, but it was comfortable and it was just fine for one night stay. Breakfast buffet was ok. It was great that we were able to get the early check in (at 12 instead of 15 for free) and the late check out ( for extra payment/... More

Located at the centre of the city and within walkable distance to some interesting places. Good breakfast. Wifi reasonably good. Service satisfactory. My room had no window. Fans and AC coexist along with room heater.

Staf was very correct during my stay at the hotel. However, the hotel suffers clearly from a investment/ renovation backlog. The hotel structure is basically old and misses some comfort of modern hotels. I could not close my window, bathroom ceiling was completely worn down. My airconditioning/ heating did nit work properly. Last -but not least, the room was very... More

This is a good economical hotel to stay in if you want to be near to Recoleta. Staff are friendly and helpful, breakfast is good, the rooms are okay and beds are comfortable. Lacks real hotel facilities and extras and needs an electrical refit. So if you are on a budget it is great, if not go slightly upmarket.

Reception staff at this hotel very helpful booking tours and offering advice. Breakfast buffet satisfactory and free wifi in the rooms. The hotel is situated on a side street, close to the metro. Rooms adequate not fancy or large. Good value for the price.

We had reserved at another hotel for 2 nights at New Year 2015-16, but upon arriving , we discovered to our horror that it was closed due to a major electrical problem. Luckily, the owner had been nice enough to move the reservations to another 'similar', hotel. So this is how we ended in the Gran Hotel which in all... More

Stayed for 5 nights November 2015. Rooms are modern and well equipped but not very spacious - not enough cupboard space. Breakfast was good. No problems with staff but room service was terrible - I waited almost an hour on two occasions for a simple sandwich! I will not rebook this hotel when next in Buenos Aires.

The price is right for what you get. Is a clean average hotel close to Retiro, is close from the famous Obelisk and some touristic places, however I only recommend this hotel for business trip. Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
