Our time in the Rockhostel was just amazing! The staff was really kind and helpful. If you want, you can have party every night, but it is also ok to relax there. The hostel is also good located, there is a laundry, supermarkets, ATM's just a few minutes from there. And last but not least, they brew there own beer...

This hostel was awesome! The location is really central, meaning you can walk to a lot of great sights around the city. Definitely very secure and safe. Pretty clean and a simple, but delicious, free breakfast. Would definitely stay here again!

Rooms were speacious and cleaned daily but bathroom could do with more attention. Mould on shower curtains and one of the female showers had only a cold tap. Other two showers provided hot water any time of day or night. Air con was cold but restricted to 10pm through til 10am. Large wooden lockers provided.. one other guest had their...

It's very basic but if you are like me and just want a cheap place to crash for a couple of nights it's fine :) Location is pretty good, supermarket very close by. The shower was hot surprisingly but took a while to heat up. The place in general was pretty dirty and messy, it felt like the floor in...

Read great reviews about this place, I only stayed two nights myself and I'm kinda glad, the place had ZERO atmosphere and the room we were put in had a serious mold problem! There were also big holes in the window panes which meant the room was extremely cold at night (and most of the day) because of this I...

Pretty good place to crash, very cheap but a bit loud if you are into sleeping... Look to stay on the floor above reception. Restrooms are a bit stinky, but showers are generally clean and have abundant hot water. Breakfast is served but there are many restaurants and stores in surrounding area that will satisfy most of your food needs.

I turned up at 3am after a late flight and they were very accommodating in finding me a bed. I stayed for 5 nights in total. All the staff are super friendly and made me feel welcome. The breakfast is nice and the kitchen is small, but well equipped. I would stay again for sure :)

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Rock Hostel & Brewery is the only hostel in Argentina that brews its own beer. Guests can also attend to the brewing process as we do it in our terrace. We also have a rehearsal room which provides an exchange with argentinian musicians that come every day to practise with their bands. The Hostel was built in a 19th century lodge set in the heart of one of the top cosmopolitan destinations in Argentina and South America. The building was constructed in 1890 and features a huge private rooftop terrace, wide rooms, tall ceilings and relaxed common areas. The space was newly renovated in 2012 to be the best and Rockingest hostel in the city. Most of our rooms have Air Conditioning. We provide Argentinian Breakfast, sheets and covers, Internet and WiFi for free, TV in the Living room. In our rooms we have lockers, heaters and fun, and the best graffiti of the bands. ... more   less
