The building is lovely and the elevator is so much fun to ride, but the rooms are worn out and in need of refurbishment. This was a very average hotel now, but I'm sure when it was first redone it was lovely. Now it's worn out and shabby and acceptable, but no longer fancy or nice. Staff are friendly and...

Moreno Hotel was charming and gave us the feel of the glorious past of Buenos Aires while hosting us in a very modern room with a wonderful view of the the neighborhood. The breakfast on the roof top was delicious and offered wonderful views. There was much sunlight in the room and of course on the roof. Close to the...

We stayed here a total of 2 nights. The location was good and the decor was interesting, as others have pointed out. However, a series of small complaints I personally had brought down my rating for this hotel. Firstly, there are a few things the hotel really should re-update with better quality (wall paint, tiles, wood frames, etc). I didn't...

Despite the rather drab street and doorway entrance, the rooms in this hotel had been modernized and were very comfortable. breakfast was available on the roof. Location- wise it was only two blocks from the main Plaza and Presidential Palace and was on the edge of the famous San Telmo markets so I though it was ideally situated.

The hotel is located in an old art deco building in the heart of San Telmo, at a walking distance from great restaurants, Plaza de Mayo and the city center. The place comes with an old style elevator with concertina gates, huge rooms, clean and bright, excellent AC , powerful showers. The service is very friendly. The roof top is...

My number one pick. Moreno is right in the heart of San Telmo and it lives & breathes the 'funky' edge that that locale has to offer. Everything is at your fingertips - Plaza de Mayo, Puerto Madero, La Boca, Subte stations...and not to mention everything San Telmo itself offers. (Make sure you are here for the Sunday market) which...

Staying at Hotel Moreno was a fantastic experience. It is well situated to get to tourist sites, good restaurants and bars, and the famous Sunday market is a 10 minute walk away. My room was very large, clean, modern and very quiet - I had the best sleep in months! The hotel staff are also very helpful (in particular, Carlos)...

We stayed here for 5 nights and would stay here again! First of all, the hotel is an excellent deal. We arrived and were immediately upgraded to a larger suite for no extra charge. Breakfast is included and is served on the upper level and patio, providing gorgeous views of Buenos Aires. The room was very clean and extremely spacious....

3 night stay. Huge twin room 63. Great shower, really powerful. Hotel is off beat, not at all corporate, funky old school elevator, lobby on first floor of art deco building. Good ac, nice staff. Roof terrace solarium breakfast room was a bit triste and the breakfast could be a bit better. But all and all very happy with my...

This self-rated four star hotel is actually more like a 3 star. Whilst the rooms are really really spacious, the rooms are also very bare. No styling / decoration - apart from the cow hide rug. This hotel is very basic. It's clean, but wasn't my style, so we checked out after a few hours (mainly because room 26 had...

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
