I didn't like this hotel, although it could have potential. Rooms are very large sized and you couldn't say the furniture is cheap (very nice parwuet, indeed), but they somehow gave me a bad feeling. Everything in there is so dark, decorations, dim lights form the ceiling and not much sunlight from the windows. Bathroom was far too small if... More

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights, and found it to be a very pleasant, economical place. It had fast elevators, friendly, English-speaking management, and very nice staff. Our trip to Buenos Aires was split up into 2 time periods separated by 10 days, and the staff happily held one of our bags over for us--no charge. The streets... More

Very large, spacious room - plus we had two little balconies. We arrived before check in and they took us to an upstairs area to get showed and changed which was useful, although I think this must have been the 'Sky Jacuzzi' which sounds better than it was. There were only 2 'down' bits that I would comment on negatively.... More

I booked this hotel using the pre-booked pricing deal which I think is a permanent fixture, which makes this hotel a great price. We had the extra extra large room and I think anymore space than this would be a total waste. The room was comfortable, with a great shower (not a bath/shower!!) with nice water pressure. Not much storage... More

A modest facade on a very busy street hides this gem. The rooms are modern with high ceilings, huge, comfortable beds and trendy bathrooms. The standard fare appears at the buffet breakfast in a rather dark ground floor room. The fruit bowl would benefit from some fresher fruit. The hotel is well-located for walking to Casa Rosada, the port and... More

The Hotel Moreno is a great combination of old world feel and new modern design. It has old -fashioned caged elevators (loved them), gorgeous turquoise tile and stained glass window artwork depicting agrigculture, and other forms of worklife. The rooms however are huge and modern. We loved the simple, classy design and all the space. I agree with another reviewer... More

We stayed at the Moreno for 4 nights in late November 2010 in an "extra extra large" room on the 4th floor. The renovated building that houses the hotel is a mix of modern design hotel and old world features. We loved the renovated old style cage lifts. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. The celings were high and... More

We ended up staying at the Moreno during our entire stay in BA as the other hotel we booked for half of our trip had an unpleasant employee. I allready stayed twice in hotel Moreno. The first time, I had a room at the streetside, which was very loud, due to streetnoise. The second time I asked a room at the backside. They gave me a room at the backside indeed, but it was on top of the restaurants ventilationsystem, which sounded like a fighter. So the noise... More

If I were judging Hotel Moreno solely on the quality of the room, this would be a solid four star review. For $99 a night, the room merits nearly a five star accolade. . .notably spacious, with windows on parallel walls, no less. This "extra large" room was nearly a junior suite--a beverage bar, sink and refrigerator, seating area, high... More

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
