My 15 year old son and I just recently returned from a trip to Sierra Brava. We arrived on April 4th and departed on April 9th. We hunted for a half day on the afternoon of arrival and for 4 full days thereafter. In short, we had an absolutely amazing experience! We are from GA, love dove hunting, and have heard so much about the hunting in the Cordoba region. Our expectations were high and every expectation was met and/or surpassed! So many birds it is nearly impossible to explain. Only 1 day of our hunting was 'slow' by Argentina standards and there were still far more birds than we have ever seen on any hunt in the US. 2 of our full day hunts were truly spectacular, potentially once in a lifetime experiences, with clouds of dove and non-stop shooting. I was completely overwhelmed and so thankful to be able to be able to share the experience with my son. Not in my wildest dreams had I imagined that both my son and I would shoot more than 1000 birds in a single day. Well, he and I both did so on 2 separate days. On the best day of our trip, we actually both stopped shooting early during the morning and afternoon sessions (the birds were still flying like crazy!). Much like the hunting itself, the lodge experience was first class. The accommodations are clean, comfortable, and possess a certain rustic charm that is hard to convey with words. Area surrounding the lodge is gorgeous. The food was great as well - excellent preparation and presentation. Plenty of food and drinks always available, including scheduled afternoon snacks after returning from hunting. I would be remiss without mentioning the fine people we met at the lodge. Everyone was so nice and did their absolute best to ensure a great trip from start to finish. They do in fact treat you like family. Topo and Daniel were both great hosts, going above and beyond to meet our every need while at the lodge. And while in the field, our 'bird boys' George and Matthew provided everything we could possibly want. No question, the 'bird boys' contributed much to the hunting experience - enthusiastic, expert rapid loaders, and simply fun people to be around. I will also say that both my son's and my shooting improved markedly over the course of a few days in part due to the plentiful shooting opportunities but also due to a few simple suggestions from the 'bird boys'. We amassed far more wing shooting experience in 4.5 days than we would in a decade of hunting in GA. Of note, the lodge provides some pictures and video for the guests for a small fee. Well done and I highly recommend it. We will cherish the pictures and video for years to come. My son and I are already dreaming of a return trip, which we hope to take sometime over the next couple of years. This trip was truly one of the best times of my life and and an unforgettable Father-Son experience. Thank you Sierra Brava!…
A highly enjoyable stay at Sierra Brava lodge, made possible by the excellent staff and organisation. They genuinely want to give you their best in service and feeling welcome and at home due to the pride they take in the lodge and surrounding area. Food was perfectly cooked , drinks served to you as soon as your glass was empty, we were spoiled rotten. The hunting also so happened to be the best I’ve experienced with a shotgun. Doves in the thousands presenting you with every shot in the book. You can change locations each day to get a variety of shooting experiences . If you come to perfect your shooting skill ,Cordoba is the best place in the world to come to. You will return to your home country a much more experienced & capable shot , having perhaps the equivalent of five seasons shooting in one trip to Argentina. Alternatively if you want to take it easy and sit on your “dove bucket” seat and drink beers every half hour in beautiful surroundings your assistant will keep passing you the cold ones. It’s all great fun and in times like these, a perfect escape.…
Sierra Brava Lodge is an amazing place. I took two of my children. Doves are classified as an invasive species in Cordoba and doves are a major problem for farmers and the rural economy in Argentina. The countryside is swarmed with literally millions of doves. Sierra Brava has great food, great service, great guides, great equipment and a great location. The staff speak excellent English and Spanish. I am definitely returning. In my family group, we had varying levels of experience and the team made us all feel comfortable and welcome. We had a wonderful time, really one of the best days of hunting I have ever had. I am definitely returning to Sierra Brava with a bigger group and for a longer period of time.
First off, the food, awesome! The accommodations were quite comfortable and clean. If you don’t have something you want there, it is your own fault. If you ask and, it is possible, you’ll have it! The staff will jump through hoops to make you feel welcome and at home. The hunting was very fast paced and while there were not the clouds of birds in some of the photos, there were more than enough to account for a sore shoulder at the end of each day! Finally, Martin, my “bird boy” was as big of a part of my trip as anything. An extremely hard working, fun loving man as was the opinion of all those in our party about their helpers.
Just returned from 5 days of outstanding hunting with Sierra Brava and I must admit the folks are the best in Argentina. I have hunted Argentina 12 of the last 13 years and I have been with some great folks but my experience here was the most outstanding ever. I would strongly suggest working directly with the lodge and avoid any booking agent that may sour your adventure. This is a great bunch of folks -- so good I left them my deposit for next year !!
