Spent just one night in this resort-like property but wished we could stay here for a few more nights. Our room was actually a suite taking up half of small house with a separate entrance. A small living room and a middle size bedroom was more than enough. There are several buildings on the property. They even have a small...

Posada del Luz certainly deserves top ranking. Its a marvellous B&B with gorgoues setting-pool, bbq area, beautiful garden and very comfortable suites. Breakfast is top quality. Tilcara is not very big, we enjoyed our walks to the Pukara, Garganta del Diablo and the nearby Laguna (wetlands).

Our stay in Posada de Luz was extremely pleasant. From the smiling and professional welcome to the very nicely furnished room and its small terrace allowing to enjoy the view on the valley, not forgetting the best breakfast we had in the area (still simple but good products and some variety) this place fully deserves its positive reviews. We chose...

Posada de Luz is a beautiful hotel. We arrived after dark after having lunch in Purmamarca and driving over to the salt plains. The staff was very welcoming, answered all of our questions, and provided great recommendations for dinner. It was a cold night and there was a warm fire burning in the hotel lobby. The suite exceeded expectations, there...

A woonderful place to stay. We spent three nights in one of the suites -- only slightly more expensive than the regular room. Very nice rooms, very nice breakfast, but above all an excellent view. It is a place where you greatly enjoy staying in as well as going out.

This place is located a few steps from the center of the village and has magnificent views in all directions. The room/ little cabana was nicely furnished, clean and cozy and had a little terrace to relax and enjoy the landscape. Great breakfast and very friendly staff . Thanks for the hospitality !

We loved this inn, nestled in the hills just above town. Our standard room was very clean and cozy, and had an outdoor seating area that looked out over the town and valley. At night we enjoyed having a fire in the room's wood stove. The food was great, and served fireside in the main lodge. Staying here was the...

Tilcara is a beautiful town, and the Posada de Luz is a beautiful property. We stayed two nights in a two-room suite. The weather was cold, but our room was nice and cozy with the wood-burning stove. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was modern with plenty of hot water! I would agree with other guests and say that...

Tilcara - what a great little town! We drove the "short route" through the mountains from Salta to Tilcara and after 3 hours we were delighted to arrive at Posada De Luz. We had a charming 2 room suite with a nice wood burning stove, patio, and lovely modern bathroom. The mattress was good, my partner is picky, so this...

Sitting on the patio of my room with a beautiful view out across Tilcara was a great holiday experience in itself, I am delighted I chose to stay here rather than the larger towns and cities further south. The rooms were outstanding and the location ideal. The staff were extremely personable and helpful, small things like an early breakfast on...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
La Posada de Luz is in Tilcara, in the heart of the Quebrada de Humahuaca, which was declared Natural and Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2003. It was categorized with three stars by the Tourism Department of the Province of Jujuy, and it has 6 double rooms, triple rooms and a quadruple one. Its owner, Luz Manfredi, knew the area in 1985, while on a trip to Cuzco, and since then she was in love with the landscape and the culture of the people. The project to build an inn in the “quebradeña way”, i.e. with stone foundations, adobe walls and mud cake and cane roofs grew through the years, and it took shape in January 2004 with the opening of the Posada de Luz with its 6 rooms whose main charm are the terraces from where you get a panoramic view of the hills around Tilcara. Since then we have received in the Posada people from all corners of Argentina and the world, many of whom are now great friends of ours. ... more   less
