This is a great location for a hostel - just around the corner from the 9th July Square with the Cathedral and only 50m from San Francisco Church. A bit of a walk to the east and you can get to San Martin Park and north to the big shopping mall (which has a carrefour). The private room was only...

Stayed for 3 nights. No sight of the English owner. Other staff quite friendly and helpful. Shared room bathrooms were clean but the room was a little musty. The private room was slightly better, though the lock wasn't very secure. The bed in the twin room was comfortable, not so much in the private one.

Great location, friendly staff. No heating in our room so we were cooooold! Bathrooms a bit dirty and in poor state of repair, but at least the showers are hot. Small kitchen made self-catering a bit tricky.

We stayed in a private double room at the Hostal del Centro. The room had a private bathroom, which is small, but works fine. The room itself is fairly big and is filled with a mediocre bed. The place is quite noisy, with sound of tv and other guests talking clearly audible at night. Another annoyance is the doorbell that...

We are long term travelers with basic needs - general level of cleanliness and enough space for our (minimal) stuff. When we arrived, they upgraded us to an en-suite room at no charge. They were very nice and helpful. I was confused about the whole ravine/valley (quebrada) to the north and south, and the girl picked up a map and...

The location of the hostel was great - right in the city center. The staff was also very helpful and even called us a cab for a pickup at the hostel when we had an early bus out of Salta. On this morning, they also made sure breakfast was put out for us before we left at 6AM (breakfast isn't...

The positives: excellent location, price, good service. The negatives: kitchen had cockroaches, bathrooms need deep cleaning. Tips: WIFI is good in the closest rooms to the reception. The shared bath private rooms are much nicer than the private room with private bath. Small and quite.

This place is not good. The building is falling apart, the bathrooms are old and haven't been cleaned properly in some time (I think they wipe them down everyday, but they really need to tackle the limescale and use some bleach). There are no outside windows in rooms or bathrooms, only the the corridor. We met the English owner Gareth...

Thanks to this hostel, I enjoyed staying at Salta. It's very near from the PLAZA.

Positives - great location, very friendly staff who have some English. Breakfast included. Free internet and Wi-Fi. Free book exchange. Plenty of bathrooms and free luggage storage. Drawbacks - rooms are basic and on the small side.

“Don't stay in the private room/bath in the front, it's loud. If you want WIFI don't stay in last room. If don't need WIFI stay in the last room because is more private and least hot in summer.”

“The rooms have TV´s but some have more channels then others so when checking in make sure you confirm that you have cable TV.”
