Our overriding memory is what lovely people Robert and Marcella are and how welcome they immediately made us feel. The rooms are lovely and have everything you need. Breakfast was very good continental. We were offered eggs/omelette cooked and took breakfast in their house which is authentic and beautiful. They are currently building a breakfast room. It is true it is tricky to find. The satnav alone did not manage it but by looking for the KM signs on the road we got within half a mile then picked up the signs. It is a decent walk to town, all downhill, probably 25 minutes and we also walked back...about 40 minutes!! The torch on our phones was handy for the last bit from the road. We stayed at 9 different hotels on our trip to Argentina and on the face of it Posada Las Sonada was the simplest, but the warmth of the welcome and the room facilities and location made it one of our favourites and one we will remember.…
It took a bit of getting lost, and asking for directions, to find this place - but it was well worth it. Having better signage would be helpful. The entrance from the highway is onto a small dirt road that is on the apex of a corner of the highway (a bit of a challenge to cut across lanes). Upon arrival, this Posada is a treat. The large property has beautiful foliage and is well maintained. Secure parking is included here. The friendly owners have done a lot to make this place special - from the extremely well decorated rooms, their personal welcoming attention - and their very affectionate dogs. Rooms have individual patios that overlook the garden. There are beautiful views over the town. There is also a pool/hot tub available. The suite we stayed in was huge, with sitting room (open concept), daybed with large windows. The bed was a little bit hard, but that is the only small detraction. The bathroom was very well appointed and spacious. Wifi is weak, unfortunately. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and all the special amenities like a kettle and tea selection in-suite and beautiful interior. Because of its location, you can't walk into town from here. The owners are very helpful with providing restaurant recommendations and genuinely are interested in your well-being. We would love to come back!…
Excellent stay in La Sonada! Robert and Marcela are great hosts. We stayed for 2 nights, which is ok for Tafi. Rooms were very clean and cozy. We even made a barbecue one night. Hope to be back again sooN!
Roberts Hughes, the owner, meets you, greets you, and makes you feel very much at home. His welsh ancestors came to Argentina so long ago that he speaks little English, but is happy to give his English a go if you do not speak Spanish. He does however have a Welsh rugby scarf! There are three rooms, each well fitted out, and very comfortable. The heating did struggle a bit in May, so I am not sure how it would cope in June. Roberts gives you a number of suggestions as to what to see and what to eat. We settled for a restaurant meal out at lunchtime, and snacked in the room at night. We had a nice breakfast with homemade jams and breads, but nothing cooked was offered. Great view over the local lake. The accommodation is high up above the town, so you get a panoramic view all round My own feeling was two nights here was about right. Tafi does not have a lot to offer, once you have had a stroll down the Main Street. And local scenery is spectacular, but again limited. Overall I really liked this place and would recommend it if you are in Tafi - good accommodation, wonderful host, great value for money…
Had a brief one night stay at Posada La Sanada, wish it could've been more. The rooms are extremely spacious yet cosy and the breakfast room is light and airy. The surroundings are stunning and Rob is extremely helpful and interesting to talk to, he made us feel right at home. Shame we couldn't have stayed for longer.
