I just returned from a 5-day stay at the Edelweiss Hotel in Bariloche. I booked a 2-bed familiy plan room for USD 210/night and got a very nice extra-large room with a dining area and minibar. Bathroom was very clean, a floor heated (which is a must for my wife and two daughters!). Although the hotel boasts a 5-star, I...

Brendan tours booked me here on a locally hosted tour of Chile and Argentina. I was put off by some of the reviews. However they assured me it would be OK. I´ m here now 4/28/08 and have a wonderful room overlooking the lake. It's large and clean. The staff are good English speakers however I can speak Spanish. I...

My boyfriend and I loved the Edelweiss. Our room was facing the street and was quite large, with two queen sized beds and a bay window that added space. There was a seating area with table and chairs and the WC was separate from the shower/tub/sink area. We even had turn-down service and chocolates on our pillows each night that...

We arrived to Bariloche with no reservation made and what a bad idea. After having been to I guess 20 hotels - all saying Bariloche is sold out tonight I saw Edelweis and maybe we paid a little more, but the front line staff were excellent. All from help with restaurants, the best trekking areas, extension of our stay etc...

Room had great view of the lake and mountains, handy walk to most of the town. yes, you could just about hear the bathroom next door if you tried hard. Breakfast was plentiful and good. Didn't try the dinner as the restaurant looked so empty and dull but the light meals in the El Patio bar were fresh and tasty....

Followed previous reviews and noted the hotel's position on a busy cross-roads so at check-in we requested room at rear of building. The reception desk was most helpful with this request and for general advice and guidance about the area. However, regardless of traffic noise, like others we also suffered from unbelievably noisy plumbing from other rooms, bedroom walls so...

The hotel is friendly enough but they gave us a tiny room which overlooked another section of the hotel so we either closed the curtains or looked into someone else´s room !! The noise of the plumbing behind our headboard was a constant during the night rather like a strange horn symphony. The breakfast was a bit hit and miss...

This hotel has a great location and great facilities. I had a very nice and large room facing the street. The room was sound proof. The breakfast was very good. The adjoining restaurant is superb and I had the best steak I've ever had. The upstairs pool is very nice with a view of the city. One of the major...

My wife and I came to Bariloche for a week skiing as part of our honeymoon between 24 July and 1st August 2007, which is the peak week of the ski season (see separate "Bariloche Uncut" review posted on the Bariloche Forum). In summary, the Edelweiss is a solid 3 star hotel, well located for downtown Bariloche (where restaurants and...

It's near great restaurants and shopping, but find it a little bit expensive when compared what you get. The breakfast were great, but the rooms and lobby needs to be updated. The best was the location. We did not need to get a taxi, except to go to the skiing places. Went 2 years later and booked at La Cascada...
