We arrived at about 5.30pm just when dinner had been served and asked if we could stay two nights-of course but first we must eat! The fales were comfortable and spacious, the scenery superb, the food was fantastic and plentiful (breakfast, lunch AND dinner included!), and the people wonderful. We met many people who had come for a few days...

Our first biking day in Samoa and after getting the ferry across to Savaii we had a very pleasant 19km bike to get to Joelans early afternoon. A beautiful spot, fales were ideal for the one night stay and meals were substantial. easily could have stayed for a second night !

We stayed here with our 9 year old daughter. As we had hired a car, we had food and water so had food for her as the food here is traditional Samoan, which our daughter wasn't too keen on. The location is absolutely the most amazing we have stayed. Swimming, snorkeling and the most beautiful lagoon right next door made...

For about $40 NZD you get two meals and a clean beach fale bed for the night. Add great hospitality by the owners, million dollar beach setting and swimming and this place offers the best value for your travelling dollar in Samoa. All fales are beach front with the water lapping at your door. One of the added features around...

My dad and I had a wonderful experience at Joelan's. We chose it because it was the cheapest beach fales that we knew of in Savaii ($60 tala with dinner and breakfast) and not far from the ferry but were very pleasantly surprised and came back for two more nights after leaving for one night to drive around the island....

As a local, my family and I use places like Jolean as a weekend getaway. Being close to our home in Asaga, Jolean is my favourite destination for a lazy Sunday afternoon lying around an open fale with a cool drink and watching our two boys have a great time in the water just below us. Sione and Falesoa are...

We made our booking (via 3 emails but never got any reply) for 1 night "transit" stay at Joelans as we did not want to drive 90 minutes to Asau in the evening (our ferry LS3 arrived in Salelologa wharf at 5 pm). At Joelan check-in, we were immediately asked to pay 70 tala x 2 for an open fale...

We stayed at Joelan in Oct 2011 in an enclosed fale and it was right on the beach with the water lapping up at high tide, they were friendly and the meals were great, I thought that this was the best place to stay in Samoa, the beach was fantastic and the cost was very affordable but when I went...

Had stayed here for 5 nights with young and old family in our group. Was absolutely one of the best places to stay on our 10 day trip. Waking up and going to sleep to the sound of the waves is tranquil, and being feed so well with breakfast , lunch(if your around for the day) and dinner. Real and...

My partner and I recently spent five nights here and loved every moment. Falesoa, Sione and their wonderful family treated us as part of the family- a true Samoan experience. The food was incredible and plentiful, with many Samoan dishes that you wouldn't experience anywhere else unless visiting a Samoan family. The Oka was amazing- so fresh and delicious! The...

“The open fales are great and really allow the breeze to come through and make it very comfortable. There are shades that you can lower that are good at keeping the rain out and can provide shade when the sun comes up.”
