My partner and I had the pleasure of stumbling across this hidden treasure and enjoying the warm hospitality of Sa'Moana Resort during our recent visit to beautiful Samoa. We were fortunate enough to be able to check in early after a long and exhausting trip from Australia and every part of our experience that followed was nothing short of wonderful....

Hi guys Thanks for the great review. Was really great having you stay at the resort and make the most of your trip to Samoa. Thanks for the recommendations also to your mates back home - we've already had some contact from one of them which is great. Like-minded people who are keen to visit a new country and see...

When we arrived at Sa'Moana, we were very excited to see that the resort was true to all the pictures we'd seen. It was just as stunning, if not more, than we expected. We hired a car for our week in Samoa, which I highly recommend if staying at Sa'Moana, due to it's secluded location. We visited in March 2017,...

Our trip was in August 2016. We hired a car to get to Salamumu and it is definitely a must! The drive to the resort is bumpy but really part of its charm of being off the grid. It's roughly 45mins away from Apia and we went to the markets and supermarket to pick up some snacks which was perfect....

Hi and thanks for the detailed and accurate review. Always appreciate honest feedback that gives other travelers a perfect insight into our resort. Yes we are down a long bumpy road (hopefully this will be improved in 2017 by the authorities which will greatly shorten the journey time). Our spot is isolated but truly idyllic and is a true paradise...

We stayed at Sa'Moana over Christmas for 5 days and the landscape here is fantastic, we did travel around the island of Samoa after leaving Sa'Moana and we found that some of the best snorkelling was right out the front of this resort. People do need to take when booking that it is a fair way off the beaten track...

Sa'Moana Resort is perfect, its a wonderful small resort that is really connected with the environment, right on the beach, coconut palms, lagoon. The staff are fantastic, always helpful, smiling and have time to have a chat. The facilities are great, very clean with everything anyone could need. The outdoor private shower is fantastic, showering under the stars is such...

My husband and I went to Sa Moana for our 35th Wedding anniversary. Even though we knew it was 'off the grid' we thought that was an exaggeration, but it wasn't. Be prepared. Make sure you want to get away from it all. There is no phone, TV or internet unless you had data on your phone or paid for...

Visited with my partner in October and stayed in Alofa Bungalow. As the resort is rated as 3.5 stars and we had never travelled to South Pacific we were unsure what to expect. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a small 3.5 star remote, idyllic beach resort located at the end of the long, windy Salamumu beach road (about 6km track off main road). Our simple colorful wooden bungalows are all absolute beach front with their own private outdoor lava rock bathroom, private deck and of course fabulous beach and Pacific Ocean views. We are the perfect location for active families, couples and singles who want to totally switch off from the World for the length of their stay and be "Off The Grid" and see the real Samoa and maybe want something a little different from the standard "out of the brochure" vacation. We have an all-day bar and restaurant with comfortable seating for a sunset cocktail, good music including traditional Samoan tunes and great vibes. All our staff are local so can share their knowledge of the best places to visit, and the stories of the real Samoa. We do a weekly cultural show and a traditional Samoan Fire Dance and Haka display every Thursday - free to our guests. Guests are welcome to surf out front - its intermediate to advanced level and you need to bring your own board. Surf Tours can be arranged with local operators when you are here. There are several within 20/30 minutes of our resort. Car hire is highly recommended so you get to see the best of our beautiful island and discover your own magical parts of it - we can recommend lots for you to do and provide a map and some local advice. Please note we are not near any public transport, shops or other resorts / restaurants - we are literally a tropical island hideaway! If this is what you seek - you won't be disappointed! ... more   less
