The pictures on the website are NOT what my room looked like. The room was run down and very small. The bathroom was the smallest bathroom I've ever experienced from a hotel stay. The location was ideal waking distance to the convention center and other hotels (where conference was held).

We stayed here for one night. The hotel is cool inside and looks very historic. The walls and doors are very thin. You hear everything!!! Beds were a little stiff but we are used to a pillowtop mattress. The kids loved the view and had fun looking at the pictures on the walls. The rooms are on the small side...

Stayed here one night because of a previous stay 5 years ago and love the history behind the place and the location. The hotel and rooms are clean but outdated - especially the bathrooms. I love the artwork and photos on each floor and the many stories they tell about the Hollywood stars who have stayed there. It even made...

In the area around the hotel many homeless people asking for money. You can see and smell the hotel's age on the floors. The Wi-Fi does not cover all rooms, when it worked very slow. No breakfast possible in the hotel. Valet parking works good, $25 a day.

The hotel is all about the location. Very easy access to almost everything, since it is in the heart of downtown. We had a conference meeting in the nearby conventional center. It is an old hotel, which definitely needs some renovation work. The internet is OK and it is included in the room reservation. The ride to the airport is...

I was touring with Il Divo (what a fabulous entertaining group of exceptional young singers with marvelous accompanying dancers from Spain) when I stumbled on the vintage Hotel SAN Marcos. What a little gem. It has enormous history and shares some history of old Hollywood. Now, to be clear, I favor old, historic hotels. This hotel is not a state...

Dear David! Thank you so much for your time and the review. I truly apologize for the late respond. We do try hard to preserve the history for many generations to come. Most fixtures even if they are not in operation we still like to keep for our dearest guests to experience. For example, we have a chill water faucet...

We stayed here when we were going to a concert as Talking Stick. It's a short walking distance which is exactly what we wanted. The room was very clean. This is an older, historic property so the rooms are smaller. We didn't care as we were there for one night only. We ate at the restaurant in the lobby which...

I love staying at hotels with history. This one has it! It is said a young lady jumped to her death and never left San Carlos! This is one of, if not the oldest hotel in Phoenix. I stayed in room 517. The hotel is clean, but the bathroom is so small you have to step out to dry off....

We have once again tried to embrace the "Historic Charm" of the old San Carlos Hotel. Yes, I knew from earlier visits that the room would be old and small. However after my past and more positive review, the hotel manager had responded that the bathrooms had been upgraded since my visit. Well ours certainly had not. The bathrooms are...

Dear Guest! We appreciate your comments and Thank you for giving us a chance. We apologize that you were uncomfortable and we are sorry for that poor experience. The issues were escalated to the engineering department to fix the problems. We would like to ask if you could give us another chance in the future. Best Regards, Angela Hentz
