Super modern and fun looking from the outside. Friendly staff. Wonderful restaurant. Very comfy Sky Deck. The pool and surrounding area is a bit smaller than I had expected, but still beautiful. Then we got to the room... There was NO view. Literally- a brick wall unless you practically hung out the window to look to the side. Look down...

I had booked a room for my girlfriend and I's anniversary, and we had such a great experience! I had mentioned something about how it was our anniversary when I booked the room, and apparently they left a little note in the booking about it, and the lady at the check in desk wished us happy anniversary. Nice little touch....

The hotel name is very misleading. There is really no spa. It's a room that must be booked 24 hours in advance so they can reserve someone to come from one of their other hotels to give you a massage. I was told they don't offer any other services other than the massage. The hotel is very old and looks...

The Clarendon is in a great location and the staff were very helpful. The Mexican restaurant is great. Our room was clean with contemporary decor and retro vibe. The pool and hot tub/spa were very nice after a day of walking the streets of Old Scottsdale. The roof top patio had a good jazz combo playing and very relaxed feel....

Thank you so much for your positive review! I love when our guests 'get it' and understand that we're trying to create an overall experience that's not like 'just another chain hotel'. I truly believe the essence of travel is to experience that which you would not find at home... otherwise, why bother traveling right?! Sincerely, Ben Bethel Owner and...

Have you ever seen pictures of a motel from the 70's? Doors face outside with small window that people walk by, so don't pull up the shade to look out. Interior has had a creative upgrade by skilled designer but you can't put lipstick on a pig. Black walls in room don't seem consistent with sunny Phoenix. Bathroom isn't organized...

This hotel has a great vibe. I'm not sure what was better the free wine on the rooftop patio or the $2 handmade tacos at happy hour! It's an older building that has recently been given a facelift. Very artsy feel to it and looks as cool at night as in the day with all the lighting. The rooms are...

I stayed here last weekend with 2 other 40 something ladies. We had an excellent time and enjoyed the hotel. The front desk staff, especially Jimmy, was more than accommodating offering us upgrades, cool towels, water, and snacks. Hotel has bikes to use and there is also city bikes for rent right outside the hotel. We hiked in the morning...

Don't let the pictures and "wine hour" fool you. This hotel is essentially an old motel with a new coat of paint on the inside and flashing lights on the outside. The hallways and room smelled musty and damp, the beds were uncomfortable (and so squeaky, could not roll over without waking up my friend in the other bed), and...

Hello LindsTheo, I'm not sure when you stayed at The Clarendon, even though your review was just posted 1 week ago. We no longer have a wine hour, instead you receive a card for a complimentary drink each day - including all of our wines by the glass, all of our specialty cocktails, and all of our craft beers. And...

I've been staying at the Clarendon for the past several years. This hotel offers friendly and welcoming staff, warm and kind hearted service people. There is always someone around to answer questions. The restaurant, Tranquilo, has a limited menu but the food is great. If you like spicy, try the shrimp solitons. If you like healthy, try the quinoa stir...

I stay at the Clarendon several nights a month on business and it beats the heck out of any typical options. The people are a big part of what makes is so great. From the front desk, to the restaurant to the roof-top bar, they are friendly and positive. The pool is beautiful and there is live music every single...
