The place is on the far edge of Sedona, while the views are nice from the roof. the attitude isn't - A 18$ charge for parking per day was added to our bill without notifying us. They didn't refund us even after we stressed nobody ever told us about the fee, nor there was a sign. I'm a Gold member of Marriott and never encountered such sneakiness Only after checking with other reviewers, we understood it's a sneaky hotel policy
The hotel is modern, clean, and friendly. We were only a few minutes from everything and out of the way of traffic. The view from out room was spectacular and on the third floor roof top, a real panoramic view. A large, spacious lounge allows for several sitting areas. Pool convenient and pretty.
Not a good location, not walkable to anything. The pool/hot tub/outdoor area were nice, and the roof deck was great- we caught a GREAT sunrise up there! Most of the balconies did not have a good view. The cafe served Starbucks but actually had a few breakfast items that were not Starbucks food- we had french toast and a breakfast burrito that were pretty tasty.
This was by far the nicest Courtyard I've ever stayed. It was a beautiful property with amazing views and great location. Easy to everything on our list. The staff was also wonderful. The front desk and the bar staff were super friendly and wonderful. They live in Sedona, I can see why they're so happy! Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Beware of the Parking Sergeant, RITA!! My friend and I checked in to one room for a week stay. The staff did not inform us there was an $18.00 per day parking fee. My friend and I had ONE rental vehicle. Midweek, my friend decided to invite another friend to stay with us at the hotel. That friend came in her own vehicle. So now there were 2 vehicles pertaining to the one original room. When my friend's friend arrived at the hotel, I decided to rent my own room to have some quiet time. When I checked in to MY room I was informed by RITA there was a parking fee per day. She asked if I had a vehicle. I told her that my friend and I had one vehicle, then the extra friend had her own vehicle, but I, MYSELF, did not have a vehicle. RITA handed me the parking ticket anyway. I figured I'll clear it up when I check out, because she obviously was not comprehending what I was telling her and she was rather abrupt and rude! So, when I check out of my room, I told the front desk person to remove the parking charge, because I did NOT HAVE A VEHICLE for the single room I rented. The original room should have been charged for 2 vehicles and my room should NOT have been charged for any vehicle. So upon checkout, they removed the parking charge. A week later I see a different charge on my credit card bill than the printed bill I received at checkout. Rita backcharged me for 2 days of parking!! So I phoned the Courtyard to speak to someone about it. RITA got on the phone and told me that when I checked out that I lied to her and her staff. I then attempted to explain the situation and she would NOT let me explain. She was constantly talking over me, not letting me explain, yelling at me, CALLING ME A LIAR, and hung up the phone on me. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH UNPROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR FROM A HOTEL STAFF PERSON!! I immediately phoned back and again started TRYING to explain what happened, and again was met with constant interruption. Her tone with me was beyond snotty and sarcastic! She said when I checked out that day her manager saw me walk to a car and get in with my friend. WELL, DUH!! That was the rental vehicle that belonged to my friend and was being charged on the original room! So because I got into the car, she decided I was lying to her and charged me for a vehicle! She should have charged my friend's room for 2 vehicles and not charge my room. ALL I KNOW IS I DO NOT APPRECIATE BEING ACCUSED OF LYING, WHEN IN REALITY RITA DID NOT COMPREHEND WHAT I WAS TELLING HER!! PLEASE, COURTYARD, MARRIOTT, FIRE THIS WOMAN!! In addition, the rooms here are small and overpriced. Very disappointing for a Marriott property...they've gone downhill. Also, why are they even charging for parking? They have a ginormous parking lot that sat mostly empty the entire week we were there!…
Spacious, clean rooms, friendly staff and a world-class view. Would’ve been nice if breakfast was included, but it was delicious and worth the $14-$15 that I was charged (I ordered the egg/quinoa/kale bowl and it was super tasty and filling - my wife ordered the same with potatoes and it was too much for her to finish). We also split an order of skillet meatballs over drinks and they were delish. On-site laundry room was a plus, roof-top observation deck was an unexpected bonus. There’s a CVS, Whole Foods and another supermarket within a 5 min drive if you need to pick up any supplies.
We were not told the parking is 18 dollars a night. At that rate I feel you should be told. They said its in the fine print. Sorry, I typically don’t read the fine print. After a week, that’s a bit pricy. The manager Rita was rude as well. I would not stay there again for the price and quality.
It was our first time staying in Sedona, and we couldn’t go wrong by staying at a Marriott. All staff was wonderful and made us feel very welcome. Special acknowledgment to Angel and the staff in the Bistro. The food was fresh fast and amazing and everyone was so wonderful. When we come back to Sedona, we will be staying again. Thank you.
We enjoyed the Sedona area immensely but this hotel was a disappointment. We definitely understand that housekeeping services have been reduced however after we asked for our room to be cleaned after 3 days the only thing the housekeeper brought was towels. No toilet paper, no coffee, no coffee cups no tissue. We also found the staff to be very aloof. One evening we went up to the outside lookout area and none of the heaters had propane in them. It’s very chilly in the evening alot of people went up there to view the sunset but we were all pretty cold and the staff really made no effort to ensure the propane tanks were full. We also found the restaurant to be very Lacking in food option. The Starbucks is also a bar. We’ve stayed in dozens of Marriotts all over the world and we have never stayed in one with such limited food options. On the positive side, it’s in a very quiet area of town and we did a nice hike behind the high school very near the hotel. The hotel itself is very nice with a nice outdoor area as well with fire pits and a hot tub. The elevated viewing area on the second floor is very nice to catch sunsets just disappointed the staff didn’t do much to make it more inviting and warm.…
I was unsure of which Marriott property to select in Sedona. This property by far has the best view of the amazing Sedona scenery. Some of the staff was very friendly and others not so much. I didn’t realize they do not offer daily maid service anymore. The property was very pretty yes I earned a good stay here again.
