The Wilde Resort and Spa is often celebrated for its impeccable cleanliness and the tranquil, comfortable atmosphere it provides, featuring spacious rooms with inviting fireplaces. While some guests find the rooms lack modern touches and occasionally report maintenance issues, many visitors are charmed by the resort's serene ambiance and prime West Sedona location, close to local attractions yet peaceful. The service receives mixed reviews, with some guests encountering attentive staff and others less so.
Despite criticism regarding the value for money, the array of amenities, including the spa and dining options, generally enhance guest experiences. However, noise levels can vary, with some guests noting disturbances.

Detailed Reviews
We really enjoyed our recent four night stay here. It is a different type of property so best to fully research and understand pros and cons. On the plus side: I experienced the best massage I’ve ever received (and I’ve had a lot) from Keri in the spa. She was extremely skilled and intuitively knew exactly what areas of my body needed focus. In my experience resort massages are hit and miss and this was the very best. Our Grove king room was great: giant bathroom with walk in shower for two, extremely comfortable bed and very quiet even being on ground floor. The firepits, hammocks and general atmosphere here is relaxing and ideal for Sedona. The location was great for easy access to the best hiking trails of Sedona and great to not have to navigate the crowded touristy part of town just to hike. Loved the free cans of spring water at reception that you never had to ask for. Rascals was awesome for both lunch and dinner. On the flip side—this hotel sits on a busy highway and you will hear road noise if seated by the pool. There are no real red rock views to speak of. I tried to email the hotel to inquire about activities when I booked and no one responded to me. Check in was a bit tedious with too much information provided to be useful. And during the long check in it was never mentioned that housekeeping had to be specially requested to be received on a daily basis which we didn’t learn until day 2 when we came home to an unmade room. Our room was described as having a fireplace when it was really just a single flame from an electric unit that was built into the wall. And if you’re traveling without kids, be ready to see them here splashing about the pool and hot tubs and running around the grounds. The gym is too small and consists of four pieces of equipment—there is lots of common area indoor space here that could support a full sized gym. Finally, like everything in Sedona this was a very expensive stay. But on balance I would look forward to visiting here again.

Absolutely fell in love with this hotel! The grounds were beautiful, well-landscaped and elegantly decorated. The hotel staff are wonderful, friendly, and pleasant. My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and had a wonderful time. Having done almost no research on the hotel prior to our stay, I was pleasantly surprised with how spacious the room was, how enormous the bathroom was (with a dual shower and a separate soaking tub!) and the warm, welcoming fireplace as soon as we walked in! I also loved the labyrinth, fire pits, and corn hole that were located right outside our room! The on-site restaurant was super cute and had great food and drinks! The location of the hotel was perfect - it was conveniently located near grocery stores/restaurants and a short drive away to more shopping and food areas. Will be staying here every time we come and visit Sedona!

We celebrated our elopement at the Wilde Resort and Spa. We are so glad we did! We chose the King Spa building suite and it had breathtaking sunrise views, a comfortable bed, and panoramic windows. The room included bottles of bamboo hair shampoo, wash, and conditioner, a keurig, a mini fridge, toweled robes, and water when we arrived. In being in the spa building you have access to the spa lounge and steam rooms downstairs.
They turned on the fire pits each night and early am so you could sit by them for sunrise and cozy up after sunset. The saltwater pool is heated for yearly use. The jacuzzis are scattered throughout and make a great soak after hiking challenging trails.
Be aware that most of Sedona closes down at 10:00 pm. So if you are traveling from afar, be prepared going in to stop into the grocery store next door (Safeway) or to eat before your drive in.
Sedona is pricy, it is very expensive everywhere. But this hotel's location can't be beat. It is close to everything. The trails are close, the restaurants nearby are in walking distance.
We had tried three other restaurants in town and ended up canceling all our other reservations because nothing was holding up to the quality of taste of food we found at the Rascal.
At the Rascal - Alex and Jared went above and beyond in their service to us while we stayed there. Mariah and Mackenzie were outstanding staff members who made us feel really welcome. The wedge salad, the meatloaf, the breakfast meals are all outstanding dishes. This restaurant isn't celebrated enough.
Our thoughts:
Best meal: breakfast at the Rascal
Best drink: prickly pear margarita at the Rascal
Best hike: Devils Bridge Trail (has rock scrambling at the top) and gets very busy
Best sunrise: Airport Mesa Trail (easy), get there early, parking lot is small
Best sunset: Merry go round rock on Schenbly trail

The hotel is fine overall but $600 for a standard room with no view is just too much. These rooms should 1/2 that cost. The restaurant food is excellent and service was good. I understand recovering costs because of Covid but this hotel based on location and room quality should not be charging this much nightly.

I recently stayed at The Wild during a family trip, and while the location was excellent, putting us in close proximity to everything, the overall experience had both positive and negative aspects. The common areas of the hotel were well-maintained, creating a pleasant atmosphere for guests to enjoy. However, our enthusiasm waned when we discovered that we were assigned to a handicap room without prior notification or assistance from the staff. Although initially friendly, the lack of communication about the room type and the absence of help in adapting to its specific features were disappointing. The most concerning issue was the glass sliding door in our room that would not lock. Despite reporting the problem, it took over an hour to implement a temporary fix, leaving my family feeling uneasy for the rest of our trip. Security is paramount, and the delayed resolution of this issue significantly impacted our overall sense of comfort and caused us to miss the sunset.
On a lighter note, we purchased a s'mores-making kit from the lobby for the kids, hoping to enjoy a fun treat. Unfortunately, the items in the kit were extremely stale, resulting in a letdown for the children. Buy fresh from the grocery store next door.

Dear garciamakd, Thank you for being our guest over the holiday season. We are pleased you enjoyed many aspects of your visit and want to apologize to for your room assignment. We assigned you to a handicap room as this is what was booked through Expedia travel. Our desire is to ensure all guests feel welcome and cared for, and would have gladly moved you to a standard room had one been available during this high occupancy time. We dropped the ball in communicating with you and hope you accept our apology. Wilde Regards, Jay Kriske General Manager

This is a very good hotel IF you are looking for a pet friendly hotel. For those of us who regularly request rooms that are not open to pets because of the unpleasant lingering pet odors, this is not a good hotel. It turns out that, based on what I was told at the front desk, all rooms in this hotel are open to pets after paying an additional fee. That should be clearly stated in their website for those of us who are looking for a different experience. Most "pet friendly" hotels designate specific room blocks for pets but that is not the case here.
I specifically requested upon booking in their website (as I always do for any hotel) that we were not placed in rooms that were pet friendly because my son has allergies. I should have been notified in advanced that was not going to be possible given the hotel's characteristics and open policies with pets.
After checking-in we requested a room change because we immediately noticed an unpleasant lingering pet odor which was and was starting to make my son sneeze. The second room was the same so we decided to just abandon the hotel and look for another one at the last minute.

My husband and I stayed at The Wilde Resort and Spa for our 30th anniversary. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We stayed in a beautiful suite with a large walk-in shower, office area, two large screen tvs, fireplace, private patio and pool access, We were welcomed with a bottle of Prosecco on ice and a handwritten note congratulating us on our anniversary. The property has fireplaces and hot tubs throughout, a garden with cactuses and stunning views. Pool is very nice with a pool bar. We had a late dinner one evening at their onsite restaurant, Rascal, which the food and service were very good. Beds was comfortable, toiletries were plentiful and room was very clean. Convenient location to grocery store, restaurants, shops and attractions within close proximity. We highly recommend this resort when staying in Sedona. Thank you to The Wilde Resort & Spa for making our anniversary trip so special!

Overpriced, understaffed, poor training, poor quality control, below average amenities. We were visiting during spring break. We were first checked into Room 136. It was missing half of the shower glass door partition
and a floor rug. There were two bottles of shampoo but no body wash in the shower. As you would expect, the bathroom was entirely flooded after one shower. Even the engineer staff person wondered why the room was in service. No comp or credit was offered. We were given another room the next day. The common areas like the Grove and the pool were never clean in the morning (garbage, beverage bottles/cans, wine glasses, pool towels left by guests overnight had not been cleared even as late as 9am). The pool was understaffed. Hard to get the one person taking orders. One time I got the wrong order. Guests would leave the pool area and there wasn’t any staff to clear the food trays and used towels. The pool is small and was very crowded. The gym also is very small. The on-site restaurant, Rascal, has a nice staff and the food is decent.

The staff at the hotel are over the extremely accommodating. This hotel recently transitioned to The Wilde Resort and Spa and the staff are extremely eager to please and ensure that your stay is everything you expect it to be. At first I thought the location was off beat but soon realized that everything in town closes early so this is a perfect spot without being overcrowded. It is centralized and 5-10 minutes by car from most tourist activities. You should drive or Uber because we tried the mountain bikes off Rt 89A which is not particularly bike friendly and not recommended. We dined several dinners at the hotel and found the meals to be exceptional. We also learned that the owner has two other top restaurants in town. The fire tables scattered throughout the resort make for cozy nights viewing the starry nights and the brilliant Milky Way in this International Dark Sky City. We actually stayed an extra night. Ask for Ernesto, the booking manager. He took great care of us. Call the hotel directly! 928-340-5356.

I had a business meeting/retreat at the hotel and while most stayed in the rooms, I lived close enough to drive. My review is therefore from that perspective, although the rooms look great and if this transitioned from a Wyndam, I am not surprised at the nice amenities in the rooms. Our meeting room was well spaced out for our group for COVID distancing. There really isn't an AV system, so we had to use laptop speakers to hear people joining by Zoom. Staff worked to help us, even going to Staples to buy a router to boost connectivity for people having problems connecting. Conference room was comfortable enough if a bit hot/cold throughout the day. Food was great - breakfast was a good combination of the usual eggs/bacon that can be done in bulk but also pancakes and biscuits and gravy. Lunch was very nice as well with fresh salads as well as options to make chicken and pulled pork into sandwiches or just as a plate. The grounds looked beautiful and I would have loved to have stayed and hung out at a fire pit. I agree with some of the other reviews pointing out that this is on a main street in town, not a highway in the usual sense. Yes, the main street is technically a highway (89A), but there are street lights that keep traffic to arterial speeds of 25-40 mph. I cannot gauge value very well as I do not know the price the group paid overall. I would look forward to coming back again and staying for leisure.
