We visited during Memorial Day weekend, shortly after Arizona lifted their SIP orders. We arrived a little later in the day, but Kat was there to welcome us and check us in.
They had their plexiglass barriers up at reception, and check in was quick, informative, and very easy. Our room was on the second floor/corner, closest to reception, Suite 210 and it had a great view of the red rocks. Parking lot was easy, plenty of places to park, and Suite 210 had its own stairs leading up to the room. The room was very clean, and very spacious! We had no trouble with noise at all, especially being one of the rooms closest to the entrance. Morning breakfasts were bagged with the current guidelines going on, which consisted of a muffin, fruit, apple juice, and a granola bar. We definitely felt that they had our safety in mind, and would be happy to stay here again! Thank you for making the first trip out of SIP a good one!

Nice small inn a couple of miles from downtown Sedona. East facing rooms on two levels and all have porches or balconies and red rock views. Lower level rooms accessed from the front, and upper level rooms from the back, two to a pathway or staircase so relatively private. Rooms closer to the front/road can be quite noisy as there's a lot of traffic on 89A at all times. We had a king room with a gas fireplace which was what we used for heat and keeping it on for a couple of hours before bedtime left the room warm enough through the night (in February). There is a window side aircon unit but it can be quite noisy when on. Room is spacious, has a comfy armchair and high stools. Balcony also has a table and chairs. Nicely decorated in rustic southwestern style and coloring, beautiful inlayed headboard and sturdy attractive woodblock furniture. Bathroom also spacious with good shower. The complex also has a hot tub in the middle area and a pool (not much larger than the hot tub) at the far end.

Breakfast in the main building upstairs from the office/lobby. Very pleasant light filled room with the same kind of solid natural wood shaped furniture. In addition to the usual - bread, cereal, some whole fruit etc, hot item just includes pre made beans and rice burritos which come frozen but can be heated in one of two microwave ovens. An adequate but not particularly outstanding breakfast. Overall a comfortable place to stay and location pretty convenient as long as you have a car. At $155/night including tax also quite reasonable and good value.

We stayed in a King Suite for several days. The room was clean and lovely, and the friendly staff were always helpful. Nice amenities like the double sinks, the gas fireplace, and the refrigerator were great for the longer visit. The complimentary breakfast was a cut above the usual fare; tasty and fresh. The location, although not in the heart of town, was close to restaurants, grocery stores and some incredibly beautiful views down Dry Creek Road.

Let's be perfectly clear - despite charging a $10 per night "resort" fee, this is a motel not a resort. Hanging a terry cloth robe in the closet does not make it a resort. Located right on the busy highway just south of town in a commercial area, it just doesn't have the feel of a resort or any of the amenities. All room entrances open directly to the outside which is a minus for security. We paid additional for the "breakfast included" option on Agoda but due to the COVID crisis (understandably) there was no breakfast provided; rather only bottled apple or orange juice, some mini cups of yogurt and some quite stale muffins or granola bars. Yet, no discount or adjustment on price was offered. Had I known I would have selected the lower priced "no breakfast" option. The room was very nice and was clean and the staff friendly. However for the price I could have picked a chain motel and been just as pleased while saving about 25-30%.

Hello CascadesRanger, Thank you for taking the time to write this amazing review regarding your most recent stay with us at the Southwest Inn at Sedona. We very much appreciate your feedback on your stay with us. You are correct we are not a "resort" we are a Boutique. The $10.00 per night fee is actually a $10.00 utility surcharge fee that our hotel charges at the time of check in. This information is given upon checking in on your guest registration card. We are sorry about the misunderstanding with "resort fee" clearly it states "utility fee". As far as our breakfast we are going to continue to follow the Yavapai County Health Department Regulations on COVID-19 and what we are only allow to serve. Until, we hear anything differently from the Health Department we are going to continue our breakfast as is. Thank you for your comments and thank you for addressing some concerns that might have been answered. Sigh. The first warning that maybe this would not be a "Certificate of Excellance" hotel is when after booking months prior to the stay, I requested non-diary milk for the included breakfast. Much to my surprise they directed me to the nearest grocery store instead of providing it! I've traveled many places all over the world and this was a first! Shocked it would be in Sedona, mecca of alternative lifestyles. Besides that the staff was friendly, but the experience was downhill from there. A cheap mattress kept my partner and I up with lower back pain (I've NEVER had lower back pain!), the wifi signal was hit or miss, and the bathtub jacuzzi was stained and broken in one jet. Not to mention there is no sliding door to the outside as the picture suggested. SOOOO disappointed. The only recommendation I have is stay away!

We stayed 1 night in February. The "Inn" is really a traditional outside access motel that has bee very nicely fixed up. Beds comfortable, room spacious, corner fireplace is a nice touch. Basic breakfast in a separate breakfast room above the check in counter. No lobby. Directly on the road.
The Inn is quite expensive for what it is, but then most of the hotels in or near Sedona are overpriced. We chose it in winter because it has a better cancellation policy than most. You will discover that Sedona has become a tourist trap and you will do better to plan an overnight somewhere else.

We stayed here for 4 nights for a best friend weekend. We booked tis hotel based on the reviews and pictures we had seen online.
This hotels is way overpriced for the services and amenities offered. We requested an upper level room but received a room on the bottom. The room had absolutely no view of the beautiful scenery. It was very dark, smelled musty and looked outdated. The sheets were greyish looking, carpet looked worn and dirty. We found several dead roaches in the room. The toilet did not flush properly. Ceiling fan was broken, shower curtain dirty. Worst of all we could hear every single step from the room upstairs.
In four days the room was not cleaned one single time. I understand we have COVID protocols but I traveled to another hotel this summer and the room was cleaned upon request. We ad to beg for new towels , and the trash to be emptied. The breakfast was non existent. They offered some burritos and wrapped Peanut butter sandwiches. Nobody ate there. We all were forced to pend extra money for breakfast across the street at a small cafe. They staff was not the nicest either but pretty much just shrugged off our concerns.
I understand the limitations due to the Pandemic but then also lower the price of your establishment if you cannot provide services. At over $200 per night this place was simply too expensive . Very disappointing.

I’m so glad we decided to stay here. No complaints (except the WiFi but the signal is better outside). The bed was comfortable and soft, not super firm, the sheets cool and clean and soft. The room and bathroom were very clean and we loved the jacuzzi jet tub right in our bathroom. Big enough for two! The pool and hot tub were closed because of Covid-19 so we were especially glad to have our own little “hot tub”. The fireplace worked but didn’t put out a ton of heat, which was fine since we were trying to cool off anyway and turned it on for a little ambiance. The decor was fun and different than most other hotel rooms. Oh and two robes in the closet! Nice touch! The room smelled fresh and clean. The view rooms are upstairs. The jacuzzi rooms are down, so you have to pick one or the other, can’t have both. The staff member who checked us is was so nice and friendly!! She pointed out some free maps and things on the table with hiking info. Fantastic location and close to everything. Wifi is not very good, maybe because the walls are so thick! Really though, we will stay here again. Oh and we LOVED having a mini fridge in the room to keep our waters icy cold and ready for our hiking. PS free breakfast here too! For right now it’s a to-go bag of granola bar, orange juice, muffin, and a fresh orange. We appreciated it though.

We spent 6 days at the Southwest Inn at Sedona and we a bit disappointed with our stay. Continental breakfast was some yogurt, frozen burritos and PB&J sandwiches. The bed was hard as a rock and springy. The room was very clean, as were the rest of the public areas and the staff was helpful. My biggest complaint is that they advertise views of the red rocks, a BnB feel and up scale accommodations. The reality is very different. Finally, it sits right on the highway, so there is a lot of street noise. I could have had the same experience for $100/night less in several other local hotels.

I booked a Mountain View room, but really only had a parking lot to look at. The pool was out of service our entire stay and I really looked forward to cooling down after hiking. There isn’t really any type of cleaning service, which is fine, except for the price. I don’t need anyone to make my bed or clean up after me, but we had to remember to request changing out towels and emptying the trash daily. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and clean enough and I liked the location, but I expected a little more at this price point. A few minor adjustments and this has potential to be a great place to stay.
