Detailed Reviews
I chose Los Abrigados for its resort style and walking distance to shops, restaurants etc as the perfect place for a celebration getaway with my adult stepdaughter. I called directly for my reservation to insure the proper details were in place . When I arrived , I was informed that the spa was closed and one of their on site restaurants/ wine bar was closed due to Covid .This was never disclosed to me when I made the reservation ( less than a week before ) and I found this very upsetting as these were amenities I had counted on .I most certainly understand limitations of our current pandemic but it varies from state to state and should always be shared with the consumer .$275 was a lot of money not to get the “bang for my buck” and though the room was very clean it is in definite need of a refurbished makeover .
On a positive note, the staff from lobby to existing restaurant were extremely friendly and professional .
BEWARE... this resort is part of a time share company ... you will definitely get the pitch !

The place is clean, but that is about all. There were no glasses, plates, or utensils. There was one tiny trash can. The location is very good. The issue I have is that most workout rooms at resorts and other hotels are open with appropriate precautions. This place charges astronomical “maintenance fees” but use the virus as an excuse not to allow use of a fitness center that have been opened many places elsewhere safely, even when they have all these fees that are at their disposal.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
Lobby and entrance to hotel gave off a resort/spa vibe that we were looking for, we were very excited. Upon getting to our room we were very disappointed! The room is sparse and unwelcoming. The furniture was cheap and uncomfortable (materials and use), same with the bathroom in regards to cheap and unwelcoming. We expected the room accommodations to match the lobby decor and resort like feel. Instead we felt as though we were staying in a cheap corporate apartment or cheap roadside hotel with cheap materials for furniture. Updates to guest rooms desperately needed.

Super clean room and friendly staff. We were greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff who showed us everything we could be needing for our trip. Our room was very clean and fully stocked kitchen with anything we could need down to a cheese grater!

We have stayed at this resort every year for the last four years, this time I was horrified at cleanliness standards. I would never stay here again. When we showed up and checked in to our room, after check in time which is 3pm, there was a bag of trash outside our room that we had to move to even be able to access the door, the bedding had clearly not been changed in between guests, there was stuff on the sheets. The dishwasher was still going- meaning on my vacation I had to put away the clean dishes. Floors were still wet, I wiped off the kitchen counter that still had crumbs. It clearly seemed like the room was a rush "clean"When I went down to talk to a manager, Miguel, about these issues they did switch our rooms and I personally watched that he put on new sheets, he was pleasant about the situation. Fast forward to this evening when we returned to the room to have dinner as we had been out all day after dropping our bags off after the room switch, I then noticed that the bathroom mirrors had clearly not been cleaned as there was a bunch of gunk on them, the bed side closet to the window had clearly not been vacuumed, the light fixture above the dining table is covered in cobwebs and when I wiped my finger across the upper part of the bathroom counter a large layer of dust appeared on my finger. Walking through the exterior of the resort there were a ton of cobwebs on the light fixtures. They have really let this place go on terms of cleanliness, ESPECIALLY during a time of Covid where Diamond promised higher levels of sanitation and cleanliness. As a Diamond owner I'm pretty peeved to pay for this as it's on par for a cheap motel. STAY AWAY!!! spend your money elsewhere.

We stayed two weeks there in March 2020. It was not our first visit as we stayed happily at Los Abrigados one or two weeks each year from 2000 to about 2010. But this time welcome was horrible, they charged an abusive additional service fee of $198.94 per week; refund obtained for second week after complaining to GM who refused to refund for first week despite a case of covid-19 among the resort personnel, spa closed and poor services. We have requested a full refund of the $198.94 first week not yet obtained on our credit card (dispute filed with credit card provider). As a result of this poor management we do NOT recommend this resort cheating clients, until problem is resolved and Diamond Resorts owning this place changes its counterproductive policies. In addition units at Los Abrigados resort are by far not the best in the timeshare industry. Just adding a positive note: a few staff at the front desk of resort and a cleaning lady were very courteous and helpful with us trying to help. That said, Sedona is a wonderful and enjoyable place to visit, and there are many better choices than this resort to stay comfortably and pleasantly for a vacation in the beautiful "Red Rock Country"

Booked the reservation 2 weeks prior to my visit and specifically requested a room with a good Wifi reception - reason being I needed to catch up on some important work related stuff. The reservation lady said she will mention it on my reservation and requested a room close to the lobby (where she said the Wifi would be fairly good). On the day of arrival, at 8am, I called the hotel front desk just to verify it again - the person confirmed this is noted on my reservation and that they will do their best.
I ended up getting a room on the other side of the pool, where the Wifi doesn't work at all, it's basically a fiction. Worst internet connectivity in a hotel ever. When I went to the front desk to complain they said they don't have anything with good wifi available today, just tomorrow. Tomorrow was too late as my wife has already wiped the room clean and unpacked our luggage.
I had to use my cell hotspot which was much much better than the Wifi, unfortunately I had maxed out my T-mobile hotspot data package after a day... so had to switch to my wife's phone.
This story tells a lot about a place., just a bad customer service.
Room is very small, too small for 4 people. If you plan to use the sofa bed there's no place to walk around the room. So everyday you have to close and open it again.
Only good things to mention is the central location and the big jacuzzi near the pool.

We only stayed here one night between time share stays but were VERY happy with how considerate everyone was. Great location in Tlaquepaque. Concierge gave us a great deal to try out some high end restaurants and also to return for a stay at an incredible price. Phillip also recommended drives to see some incredible scenery.

The location of this resort is wonderful, within easy walking distance to Tlaquepaque and in the heart of Sedona. The room was very clean though the decor a bit old. The rooms could use a bit of updating. Also, we wished the kitchen had been more well stocked. We were only a couple, but since we ate in nearly everyday, the four place settings (plates, glasses, silverware, etc.) lasted us - well, a day. We found ourselves either using the dishwasher everyday (however, the front desk kindly provided us with a whole bag of dishwasher soap!) or hand washing our dishes. We encountered a bug problem when we tried sitting outside on the patio. Coming from Southern Utah, we hadn't anticipated having to deal with bug bites. We ended up not sitting out on the balcony and realized that from now on we need to bring a bug repellent with us! Overall, our stay in the resort was an enjoyable one.

Had long wanted stay at the Los Abrigados Resort. Felt the room was not clean and seemed dank; found a few bugs. Doesn't seem property is being kept up - lot of moss in the pond. Few indications of special cleaning efforts due to COVID in room other than a removeable wrapper around tv remotes. Room was large with separate bedroom and good kitchenette. Wi-fi was weak at best. Staff at front desk were friendly and wearing masks behind protective clear plastic. Ate at Spoke and Wheel but menu was very limited and no notice given on website of limited menu. Food was ok, but not great. Overall could have stayed at a much nicer hotel for the $730 we spend on Labor Day Weekend for two nights. The don't disclose all of the resort fees well.

Yes, both in the room and at the pool.
We didn’t use the sofa bed so I can’t say but when I was there once before, my 16 year old granddaughter slept on the sofa bed quite comfortably and she was 5’6”.
These questions would perhaps be better answered by calling the resort directly. If you are able to trade into the facility you are very lucky and getting a good deal. We have tried to trade into this resort and have not been able to. Instead we paid over $700 for two nights. The grounds are lovely and it is nicely located. Our unit was comfortable and quiet with laundry facilities available in the same building. We enjoyed our stay as I’m sure you will also.
A quick search will give you information about the Morris House, some right here on TA. I bet if you call the resort they would furnish the information you wanted. One of the sites I found said just that. Another option is to look into booking the rooms in one building where your group could have their individual unit, but still in the same building. Just a thought.
