Though the view of the bay, the beachfront, and the friendly staff were good, the internet connectivity was awful. In addition, management did not do anything about the following problems when notified on day one of our five day stay: Lack of screens on the bathroom windows so we could not open them to get good air circulation in our room. Pillows that were huge and hard were not replaced with something softer. The loud clunking sound that may have been from a sump pump that went on and off at 4 AM.

What a wonderful stay.Everyone was so lovely. Was feeling I was in family. My view from my room wonderful many stairs to it but when you get there you completely forget.Becausevit was so impressive the beauty. Very practical hotel because most of the tours departing from that area. For sure I'm thinking to return. Thanks so much for the lovely hospitality.

Great location at the beach. Friendly staff. We stayed for 3 nights at a superior room with a great view over the landscape and the beach. Note since the rooms are located on the hill there are stairs. The beach is quiet and invites for nice walks.

I brought my son and his friend to Drake Bay for a fishing trip and we were lucky enough to have chosen a nice family run lodge on the beach. We stayed in a large room with ocean view and woke up to white-faced monkeys, toucans and Macau’s every morning and the girls in the beach kitchen fed us 3 beautiful meals a day as if we were royalty. Love that place and the people that make it happen Charles

A very nice boat ride to a scenic location to be admitted into a poor hotel room. The tiny room was incredibly hot with no ac, or wifi. The beds were uncomfortable, the water worked intermittently. We stayed only two of the three nights booked. The staff were nice and the food was acceptable. Billed as a 3/5 on Hotwire? No way.....

We loved Ranchoo Corcovado - a lovely place right on the beach. We had a 'deluxe' room that overlooked the beach - very spacious with two full walls of windows & air conditioning. It can be quite hot, so having AC is a good respite & given the views we were happy to spend some day time inside reading. With the view, you felt very close to being outside. Wonderful manager & excellent staff. Food was excellent, though just good after two large tour groups arrived. Rancho run several activities out of the hotel - trips to Corcovado National Park, snorkeling & I think opportunities to fish (we didn't do that, but the staff came in with some very large & beautiful fish, including red snapper). Our tour company arranged a tour of the national park with another hotel - the one run by the Rancho is definitely better. They go farther into the park, where you have a real opportunity to see animals. The good sized staff is clearly happy with where they work and that showed in the quality of their service. Yes, internet is available only at the open aired eating & sitting area, which was fine. We could download and then read later. We had looked online before going so we could see there was no dock or pier - the regular boat service from Sierpe gets as close to the beach as possible, then you walk into the water for a very short walk to the beach. (The ride down the Sierpe River was also fun) Staff takes your bags. It was a wonderful introduction to a beach location. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Basic hotel. We had a room with an ocean view up a hill. Water taxi to get there no pier so wet feet getting to hotel. No WiFi in rooms which was a shame. Walls paper fine. Breakfast fine. Nice staff. No AC in room. Over priced but nice enough.

Stayed here with my daughter (22) for 7 nights. It was rainy season so I don’t think we were there at the best time. Couldn’t really sit out on the beach but there was other things to do. Room was large with an amazing view of the ocean, beds clean, huge and comfortable. Air con was brilliant and a must as was the ceiling fan. Room was serviced well every day, Our food was included so we just went down and our meals were served to us. Good healthy food, adequate quantities. We were asked if we had allergies or preferences and said no so we were just given food each day, no menu to choose from as such, but that was fine for us. Always coffee or tea available. Staff were so friendly and helpful, lovely people. Couple of small things to consider. There’s no Wi-Fi in the rooms, no tv but we didn’t mind that. Few power cuts that went on for several hours, so maybe take a torch 😊. No fridge in room and not a great choice of soft drinks in the restaurant area, just beer, water or juice. We walked to the shop for supplies and just asked for ice and glasses. The manager is great and knowledgeable about all the tours and can organise everything for you, his English is very good. Finally this is not a luxury hotel so don’t go there if that’s what you want. its clean, comfortable and everyone is just lovely, it was perfect for what we needed.

Oh my gosh. This is the most awful hotel I have stayed in on a group tour. In UK terms it is 1000x worse than Forte Travelodge. You start off grimy with the wet beach landing. The water didn't work for hours after we arrived so we continued to be grimy afterwards. There is no aircon. Wifi only works in the lobby and even then it is intermittent. My room (7) was up a massive outdoor staircase with at least 50 stairs and the owner thought it was hilarious to turn off the stairway lighting at 8pm. Some of our guests were older and not used to carrying a mobile phone to act as a torch for them. If they had been informed of this at check in then they would have brought a torch and not found this out in a dangerous way. The rooms are sweaty and they don't change the sheets every night. They just uncrumple them and reset your bed. Yuck. The only good thing was the food. Their restaurant output is decent but glacially slow. I also disagree with how their tour is the only option available for Corcovado NP. Whilst I had a fab tour with Alberto, I don't agree with how other options are not presented to guests.

Not 100 meters, nor 5 minutes. The hotel is on the beach itself. Rooms that extend into terraces surround the dining room. From then on dry sand, wet sand and sea, which causes you to use it day and night. All the dawns will have boats that will take you to the Corcovado National Park or to the Isla del Caño. In the afternoon in the shade of the palm trees a woman will offer you a body massage, accept it with all confidence.
