The room is small and basic but met our needs. It's extremely hot, the fan doesn't do much so be warned, it's really, really hot, all day, all night. The family that runs the place are exceptional people. Unfortunately we don't speak much Spanish, if any, so it was difficult to communicate but we managed. That's on us we should know more Spanish. The meals are included and are very filling and delicious. Breakfast and dinners are included but some days we had lunch, some days not so that wasn't super clear. The location is hard to find. We drove and our GPS did not bring us there. It's right at the end of the road and there's a gate with really no signage so it's hard to locate. The location is perfect, walking distance to town if you want. The trails are excellent going both ways and the wildlife is everywhere. Toucans, scarlet macaws and monkeys all around us as well. The beach is two minutes away, you can't really see it from the home but it's close enough. Chairs to bring to the the beach would be wonderful even if we had to drag them there when we wanted to lay on the beach. Calm beach for swimming at any age. We would definitely stay here again. It's a perfect place to unwind and experience a "home stay". …

We loved Garden of Heliconias Lodge! It is a small lodge with only three cabins. Ours was basic but very clean and comfortable for our family of 4. We had two fans in our room; it can get hot during the day but the cabin is well ventilated with mesh windows and it was fine to sleep at night. The lodge is so close to the beach you can hear the waves at night. We ate all our meals at the lodge; the food was excellent and varied. Purified water is provided, which was really appreciated. The owners David and Elena are wonderful people and very friendly. They will do anything they can to make your stay comfortable. They booked our tour to Corcovado and can help to book any tours you want to do. They will also help you book the taxi boat from Sierpe. The lodge is a bit further than Drake Bay; a further 5mn by taxi boat (we were dropped after people were dropped at Drake Bay at no extra cost). It is a wet landing so be prepared. David or Elena will be on the beach waiting for you. There is a beautiful costal trail if you wish to walk to Drake Bay (it takes maybe 45mn). All together, we had a wonderful time at the lodge. Close to the most beautifull beach, this family run place is a hidden gem! The cabiña is basic but beautiful decorated, fresh flowers and the cleanest we’ve seen!! The family is very welcoming and their kids are the best! The best animals spotters, happy to take you an stroll, best night tour in cost Rica❤️
