Just a few weeks ago, I returned from spending this time of year at Villa Sumaya for the third year in a row now with my friends and family. As always Wendy and her team extend there hands for support when ever needed and helped everyone in the group both return retreaters and newcomers feel right at home from the...

I came to Villa Sumaya through Aimee Hansen/Storyteller Within women's retreat and one of the reasons I actually decided to go on the retreat was because of the Villa Sumaya website and how beautiful the location looked. Once I arrived, I had no words! The space is 100 times more gorgeous than I could have even imagined. There are adorable,...

I spent last week at Villa Sumaya surrounded by beauty and support. It was my first time holding my women's retreat at Villa Sumaya, and it was evident how much love and attentiveness has been poured into every detail here. The views of the volcanos are unparalleled. The entire center is full of lush gardens with many spaces and nooks...

Just completed hosting our third consecutive yearly meditation retreat at the Villa Sumaya. As ever, Wendy and her lovely crew accommodate every request no matter how small with grace, warmth, good humor and professionalism. Villa Sumaya is not just a beautifully curated hotel, indeed it's an important spiritual center which is seeding the work of many healers and seekers from...

Villa Sumaya is unlike any other place on earth. Truly an experience to be had. I've enjoyed a group retreat experience here as well as a personal retreat and both have made it to the top of my list as favorite experiences. Every room has an amazing view. Every meal is delicious and soul filled/filling. The attention to detail of...

I was lucky enough to spend one week at beautiful Villa Sumaya, and did not want to leave (and still reeling from the shock of being home)! From the magical views of Lake Atitlán and volcanos, the deep connection with nature, the delicious food (all sustainably sourced), to the wonderfully friendly and dedicated staff members; I would recommend Villa Sumaya...

The abundant buffet meals were delicious! All of our students are telling us how much they enjoyed the healthy, yummy choices! We highly recommend treating your group to the Maya Shaman...

I have just returned from a ten day stay at Villa Sumaya and I'm homesick. I think it is okay to characterize it as a yoga retreat center that serves up delicious vegetarian foods, however I was with a group of 37 vegans and we were all quite pleased with the place, the service, the food, and everybody who works...

We spent 10 days at Villa Sumaya which can only be reached by boat. We flew into Guatemala airport, a 3 or 4 hour drive to the docks of Panajachel, then 20-30 minute boat ride to the dream like villas of Villa Sumaya. This is a beautiful way to get away and get in tune with yourself, the land, Lake...

Villa Sumaya is a stunningly beautiful lakeside retreat site. "Hotel" doesn't do it justice because the villas and rooms are set on the hillside and many are independent structures. Our spiritual group spent 9 days here and dang near everything was perfect, and when things weren't, such as one morning of no hot water to our room, it was fixed...
