I am eternally grateful to the staff at this hotel. I stayed here for about two weeks in February. I crushed 2 vertebrae in a boating incident and was bedridden for over a week and I was cared for exceptionally well by the staff especially Luis. Beautiful lake front position the rooms were exceptionally clean and bright, lovely views and common area, close to everything but nice and quiet, caring and lovely staff. I really felt at home especially at a trying time.
Nice and clean rooms, great view, useful kitchen, Right next to quiet secluded part of the lake. Flexible with prices, the more you stay, the cheaper it is. Location is very quiet but still central. Free drinking water, hot shower, and friendly helpful staff.
Well this hostel is very basic but I loved it, it has everything you need: It is very clean, beautiful view friendly staff, it isn’t that expensive, but the internet is very slow =( =( =(, but it works..... and it has kitchen =)
We wanted our money back, after some hours, my husband and I've realized the water is cold. The manager said that she can't give us the money back....old blankets, dirty shower....just the view is nice
We stayed for 4 nights and it was perfect for us. We had a basic room on the top of the hotel with a great view on the lake, with hamacs. Hot shower, private bathroom, room with 2 doubles beds, free and good wifi, great location. Gladys is very friendly and helpfull. A very affordable place for backpackers.
We stumbled across this place after being turned away from the San Antonio, which was full. Serendipity! We were first shown a room in the section of the hotel that's undergoing restoration. It's across the street from the lakeside portion. We rejected the offered room, even at $9 a night. That's when we were shown a lakeside room for $19. We planned to stay two nights; were now on night 8 and counting. The owner, Gladys, is charming. Is it dumpy and disheveled? You betcha. Would my wife and I return here? Hell, we may never leave.
The only thing I liked with this place was the hangout area. Many chairs, couches and wifi. I didn't like the rooms. Dirty feeling over all and the beds we're pretty bad. Didn't really understand who was working there, not good service at all. Can be nice to visit the hang out area of this hostel if you are I San Marcos, but I wouldn't stay here again..
My friend and I stayed here for three nights at 100Q per night for a room with two double beds and bathroom. Our room didn't have a view of the lake and it wasn't clean at all. The kitchen which was available for communal use was incredibly dirty and unusable. Our room was also lacking in a hangout area such as a hammock or chairs outside the room. After three nights we moved to a hotel down the road closer to the dock, it also cost 100Q however it had a beautiful view of the lake, a hammock and a bench to sit on outside our room and most importantly it was a lot cleaner. Some of the rooms at this hotel do have views of the lake, however not being able to continue staying here because of the uncleanliness and low value for money is such a shame because the lady who runs the place is so friendly and lovely.…
I used to love this place. I moved into a room with a view and a lot of windows. But with the endless construction across the street, this room is a nightmare during the day. They won't give a discount for the noise, and in addition the giant orange tubes pointing up for the new bathrooms interfere with the view. Also, the view from the lower decks is decimated by the new building across the street. It's very sad. The wifi can be spotty, depending on who is downloading what, next door.
My husband and I only stayed in San Pedro la Laguna for one night on our way to Antigua. This was a fine choice for a one night stay. There is a great view of the lake from the rooftop, but bring a long sleeve because it can get windy up there. The hotel itself was dilapidated, but there was a tv in our room and we had a private bathroom. Yay! While they do have WiFi, it is spotty at best. The staff was wonderful. As we arrived before the room was clean they stored our bags in their office and placed them in the room before we returned. A welcome treat!
