The guards in the entrance are nice people. The fromt desk ladies are sympatic and smily. The room is ok but not very good. The food not good: we had a dinner at the pool bar because the restaurant of was occupied by young people...More

This place is very sketchy, and no customer service skills at all. Let me start by saying I felt a negative vibe from the front desk receptionist when I showed her my passport for ID during check-in. By all means, don't get jelly cause I'm...More
This has to be the noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in. I get that it's a casino and runs to late at night but the outside Karaoke bar was over the top. Then at 5:30 in the morning the outside crew starts running power equipment...More

Unfortunately I can only answer based on my earlier, not recent experiences. We ex-pats who lived in or around San Isidro relished our memberships to RCI's Hotel del Sur and the discounts we received on food and drink at the Hotel made other issues tolerable. There is no better gym, work out facility, in Costa Rica's Southern Zone than Hotel del Sur's.
I hore these comments help.
Musoc bus is less than 20$, from SJO to San Isidro. From San Isidro terminal when you arrive, there are many taxis around. You can offer a deal, too. But most of them use meters, I don't think it's more then 5-7$.
