We had a great time at Talari Mountain Lodge. The owners were very accommodating, helpful and very nice people. The rooms were very clean. The food was very tasty. The birding was really really good. Plus they have a covered tennis court. Birding+Nice Lodge+Tennis court = Excellent experience

This lodge is well placed for visiting lots of good birding spots in the area and is clearly geared up for birders, with well-placed feeders by the restaurant offering great bird views. We had three nights here and whilst it wasn't the best lodge we stayed in (accommodation-wise), during our three weeks, it was still very good. Rooms were OK,...

Reception was unmanned when we arrived. Eventually, one of the owner's young sons greeted us and took us to a room. Room was minimalist: concrete block construction with concrete foundation - solid but uninspiring. Room had ceiling fan and clean sheets and towels. It also had a lot of ants, roaches, and moldy smell. Hammock in front of room was...

Stayed for one night at Talari, and will not stay again. Our room was dirty - dead bugs in the bed and all over the floor. It was the off season, and unfortunately, the owners were away. The staff didn't bother to clean the room before we arrived (although they did put clean towels on the bed, so obviously someone...

If you're looking for a quiet, off the beaten path kind of place to rest, relax and enjoy the wildlife - then Talari Lodge is for you. The open-air restaurant is lovely. And while the accommodations are a little on the rustic side - we appreciated the chance to unplug and unwind for a couple of days while touring the...

Carlos was really friendly. Even though we only stayed one night he invited us to stay and use all the facilities and to forget about the check out time. I love the open air restaurant . We were the only guests for breakfast and there were a lot of birds flying about ,coming for the bananas that Carlos put out...

We stayed here one night only and were the only visitors. I have the impression that it is not visited that often, and even with the small swimming pool on the grounds, it was not very high class. We did not used the restaurant. Our main purpose was birdwatching and the whole area was a bit disappointing. There are much...

We stayed here with friends and loved the area. We saw plenty of birds and the location was very piece full although only just outside San Isidro. The grounds are nice but everything could do with a bit of a spruce up. Pool cleanliness seemed a bit lacking. A bit overpriced compared to other places we stayed. The food was...

Well, if you never have seen birders in their element, or if you are in for a new experience in ecotourism, then go to Talari Mountain Lodge. This bucolic hotel seems to cater mainly to groups of bird enthusiasts, and to observe them, for us was an experience in itself. While we succeeded in identifying about five species that day,...

This place is not far from the town of San Isidro but it feels like it is worlds away. Rooms are basic, but there is little reason to be in them except to sleep and shower! Each morning there were brilliant forest birds right outside our front door. Each room has a small patio and a hammock. There are trails...
