We decided to go to Lake Atitlan because it was highly recommended by some Guatemalan friends. When we were searching for lodging, we found Casa Palopo on the top rank of the reviews and decided to give it a go. You can have high expectations but this place surpassed all of them. It's not only the location, the outstanding views,...

My review is not on the hotel which looks amazing but of its restaurant, 6.8 Palopao, which is absolutely gorgeous, but of our dining experience which was soooo subpar for a hotel of this statute and a meal of this price. 880 quetazles and a $45 boat ride for a wonderful salad (6.8 salad) and to die for dessert called...

We went to visit Casa Palopo with a group of 20 friends to have dinner and spend the sunset over Lake Atitlan on their beautiful Terrasse. After that spectacle of nature which was accompanied by the best drinks I've had in a long time (try the mojito), we received a set tasting menu through the world of Chef Mario André...

Casa palopo is a beautiful intimate Hotel where each room is decorated differently and with style. The staff is extremely well-trained, the chef, who is also the hotel manager, takes time to talk to his guests and unlike most managers he truly enjoys it. His food is outstanding, the service is impeccable, the atmosphere is completely relaxing and elegant. A...

My husband, 18 year old son and I stayed at Casa Palopo last week while on vacation in Guatemala. We absolutely loved it! The food was fantastic, our room (#2) beautiful and very quiet (although at the top of a lot of steep stairs up the hillside), and the staff was incomparable. Our waiters tried to help us with our...

My boyfriend and I had an amazing time at this hotel. It's quiet, with beautiful local decor, great art collection, and a very friendly and accommodating staff. We had a lovely dinner here overlooking the lake, as well as a nice breakfast, the food and service were excellent. We were very happy with our room (suite 2) which had a...

This little hotel is a gem on the lakeside. Rooms are beautifully decorated in vibrant Miyan colour schemes and dotted with interesting artefacts - there's a confessional just outside reception. Our shower had a view of the lake, though our balcony didn't, but the French doors on our balcony opened onto a view of lake and volcanoes, which made up...

Very nice and quite hotel. The food and service are great. The lake and volcanos view from the hotel is awsome. We are definitely going back. During the day the weather was a little high, but the evening was just perfect.

I´ve been living at lake Atitián since 2008, at 3 miles from Casa Palopó... Dinne there at least a couple times per year, I´ve enjoyed staying at the beautifull rooms several times and even spent a day at the the $2k per night villa once... I´ve had the delicious black bean soup, shrimp wonton, tuna tartar, bomb desert... etc... so,...

My wife and I spent two nights at Casa Palopo during our honeymoon and it was truly incredible. The hotel itself is gorgeous, with many sitting areas in which to relax and take in your surroundings. The terrace was very serene with a beautiful view. My wife and I enjoyed most of our meals here overlooking the lake. The service...
