This hotel is promoted as a four stars hotel but it gives you the impression that is lower. We stayed there for two nights as a big group with children. The decoration is something your either love or hate using ancient Greek style statues etc Some rooms had roll-away beds even for adults while others had regular beds. The doors still have locks with keys and not electronic locks. Our room had a cracked sink (not leaking) and the bathroom door case had damages from the shower water. Breakfast had limited options but it was adequate. Staff during first night's dinner tried to cope with all the people and so it wasn't so friendly. Location of the hotel is very good, being on the central Kalampaka road.

Stayed in Room 301, a Triple Room.

PROS: The hotel has a convenient location on the east side of the main street. The staff member who checked us in was very helpful in orienting us with how to get between the different monasteries. From our room, we had amazing views of St. Stephen’s Monastery! The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The elevator was spacious as well. The hotel offers breakfast for €5 per person, which we did not try.

CONS: The wifi was horrible in the room and lobby. In fact, we frequently walked five doors down the block to Cafe Briki in order to send an iMessage or check email. The refrigerator did not work, and when we informed the front desk, the woman said there was nothing they could do about it. The air conditioning was quite weak. In the bathroom, there was no mounted shower head holder so it was impossible to rinse your hair with both hands.

Stay here on Sept 18 as part of a guided tour package through Exotica. Our stay included a set chicken dinner with soup and salad along with a breakfast buffet. The hotel is old but charming with thin walls that allow sound to carry. Hotel is very clean as are the rooms and the staff are very helpful and welcoming. Rooms are small as is bathroom with decent AC and average beds. Solid 3* hotel in great location. Included dinner is only offered to groups that stay. What I expected from a quality 3* hotel

We visited Kalambaka and the surrounding Meteora monasteries in July 2021, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay for couple of nights here. The hotel was somewhat empty which was understandable as Greece just opened up. The room was clean, and we loved the view of the rocks from the balcony. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant by providing valuable tips on how to see the monasteries and recommending places to eat. The parking is readily available on the side streets, and we loved the breakfast with many options to choose from which changed from day to day.

My family stayed at Hotel Kosta Famissi during our one-night stay in Kalambaka. Just note that Hotel Famissi and Famissi Eden Hotel are also in town, so be careful that you don’t confuse them. Hotel Kosta Famissi is located on the main street running through town with statues from Greek figures both in the front and in the lobby.

We stayed in the quadruple room for our family of four. The rooms were quiet and clean. Breakfast was available in the hotel restaurant starting at 8 a.m. There was also a tour group staying at the hotel, and it seemed the group had scheduled breakfast before opening time, so that the dining area wasn’t overcrowded by the time we showed.

If you are traveling by car, there is a nearby free parking lot.

Stayed 3 nights in Kosta Famissi Hotel. It is a hotel that receives a lot of groups. People working at the hotel are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is OK, but not outstanding. If you are an individual guest, breakfast starts for you at 08h00, a bit late if you like an early start to the monasteries or need an early train. Groups take breakfast more early, at 06h30 or 07h00. But it is possible to discuss that with the hotel and so to be able to eat more early too. Room is OK and clean, and the balcony is a bonus! We were at a higher floor and had a very nice view at the big rocks and could even see 2 monasteries, St Stephan and Agia Triada. Enjoy the sunrise from the terrace! There are good restaurants very close to the hotel. A big supermarket is a 5 to 10 minutes walk. You can take the local bus to the monasteries at 50 m from the hotel. Returning from the monasteries, you have to leave the bus in the center of Kalambaka. The trainstation is a 10 minutes walk from the hotel and the busstation is a 15 minutes walking. The reception provided me with a big scarf for the visit to the monasteries. I appreciate that. We loved our quiet stay in Kosta Famissi!

I paid a relatively low price so I had to keep it in mind when writing this review.
The hotel is very, very old and desperately needs a total renovation, but the price reflects the quality, I guess. My room was clean and everything worked well, even though looked like from 1980's. A small balcony overlooked the main street but it was quiet at night.
I was very disappointed to see a roach in the hallway, fortunately my room didn't have any insects or I didn't see it.
Breakfast was OK for 5 Euro but keep your expectations low (otherwise it would have costed 2-3 times more).

Meteora is fantastic, get an e-bike or a car, avoid the package tours.

We decided to book here after the hotel we had originally chosen cancelled our reservations. Because we were one of few guests, we were given an excellent, modern room with a balcony directly looking at the Meteora cliffs. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Charlies at reception made us an appointment for a PCR test in Kalambaka (since we wouldn't have had time to do the test at Athens airport), and also offered us advise about the monasteries and town. Good breakfast and Wi-Fi.

I stayed at the Hotel Kosta Famissi with an educational tour group of 47 at the end of July, during the hottest part of the summer. The hotel is very nice. It is a great location near shops and restaurants. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, great water pressure, and the AC worked extremely well by European standards. Our rooms were cool. The furniture was a bit dated and could use an upgrade. The food at both breakfast and dinner was delicious and there were many choices. This was the only meal my 15 year old son went back for seconds. The staff was kind and helpful. It was a nice hotel and a great experience.

We stayed here as part of the Meteora Trip 2day rail tour from Athens. We arrived around 1pm on the first day and was able to check right in. It’s a nice medium size hotel with rooms a little on the small side and kitschy decor but friendly staff and great for an overnight stay. Location is on the far end of the main street through town but is an easy walk to tons of restaurants and shops.
Buffet breakfast had a wide variety of choices typical for european style breakfast. We we’re able to do a late check out which allowed us to clean up after a morning hike.
