Contrary to other reviews Google maps guided us easily to the guesthouse, it is true the road is narrow but there is a space directly in front of the hotel entrance where you can turn the car, as well as ample parking space. The hotel is indeed small, with reception at ground level and bedrooms below it. The rooms are... More

Located on the rising promontory overlooking the town and the northern lake side, the rooms of the guesthouse provide excellent views and photo opportunities. Our cosy comfortable room with balcony was an ideal vantage point for observing activities on the lake, the mixture of buildings and architectural styles, and general life going on. Owners of the guesthouse were friendly and... More

The views are worth the stay as you can look out to the city and lake from your room and breakfast room. The staff is extremely accommodating and helpful. The breakfast is varied and delicious. Overall this is a restful place. Although difficulty to get to, once you reach it you will be amazed. Go hiking along the trails.

It is complicated to reach Filoxenia, almost on top of the hill. Streets in Kastoria are narrow and slopy. But it worth! There is a very nice view from living room. Rooms are clean. Guests are welcome. Breakfast is simple. Parking is a little difficult - it is hard to exit.

Good experience there: view, rooms, hospitality, balcony, breakfast are very good. The whole place has a comfortable feel. But we made the mistake of not having a GPS or ask in advance for directions. With just a map of Kastoria from the Green guide of Greece, we ended up very lost on narrow and extremely steep streets. Not for faint hearted,... More

It had AC - that can be SO important some times of the year...From the... More

The hotel is run by a sister and brother. The sheets and towels smell like the outdoors....They speak English quite well. The surroundings are lovely. The breakfast was practically custom made for us...A lovely sunroom. If you don't mind climbing it's divine. And if you are allergic to bee and wasp stings take precautions....the flowers are beautiful

The view from our room(2) was worth sTaying there. We walked down to the lake but it wasnt easy to climb back. The GPS showed us the exact place upon arrival,so it was not hard to find. The room was very small but with a balcony. Mosqitos were there too.I guess the walls are thin, we could hear our neighbors... More

This pension is in a great location with lovely views across the lake and is pleasantly situated with nice gardens. Our room was fairly small with a bathroom which was a bit dated (why do showers have to be so small?) but ticked the main boxes of being clean and comfortable. Breakfast was perfectly adequate and service was very good.

“If you have a car, don't even think about trying to drive. There's nothing wrong with the directions but street signs are absent and it's dead easy to miss a turn which makes negotiating the one way system difficult. Grab a taxi and get the driver to lead the way. Four euros well spent.”
