Today we headed to lovely Lake Mývatn, with its crystal-blue waters, in one of Iceland’s prettiest areas, known for its geothermal activity. Our first stop the majestic two-tiered Goðafoss Waterfall, named the "Waterfall of the Gods" according to Icelandic sagas, equivalent in size to Niagara. In this paradise for nature enthusiasts , scenes were filmed for some of the Game...

We stayed one night, our room had a double bed and was somewhat cramped for overall space, but was very clean with nice furnishings. This was the only hotel room with a balcony, perfect for me since I woke often during the night in search of the Northern Lights. While it was cloudy the entire night, I at least had...

The room is small if you have big luggages or sharing with someone who has. Basic with 2 single beds with just enough space to walk. My room has a full wall window with the heater across the wall behind the bed.I find it a bit stuff with the heater behind my head so the next night i slept the...

Very nice stay. Nice, clean room. Great, friendly service at any time day or night. Reasonably priced for Iceland. Lovely, modern restaurant with very tasty food and good views of the lake and bird life outside. Good, large, fullfilling breakfast included in the price!

The public areas of this hotel are pretty good, and we had a particularly warm and friendly welcome with advice on where to see in the area. But the bedroom was tiny - barely room for two bags, as others have said (and definitely no room for a kettle), and the bathroom was very dated with a lot of mould...

Dear Richard079, Thank you for taking time to write a review. I am sad to see that you did not enjoy every aspect of your stay at Hotel Gigur. By lake Mývatn it is all about nature, so the rooms are not large, but our dining hall is and it has a wonderful view over the lake and surrounding nature....

Our room was basic but clean. Small but private bathroom. Set right on the lake with lovely views, and the staff were reserved but helpful. The main thing I'd mention is that there aren't kettles in the rooms so if you want a hot tea after freezing your fingers off while you watch the aurora dance above you (yes, that...

Booked at the last minute through Booking.Com; not particularly cheap, but then nothing is in Iceland ! I arrived well after dark with fair accuracy on the Garmin; some signage lights would be helpful to make it easier to find at the last 100m and I then stumbled over a kerb in the gloom in the parking area -some bollard...

We visited here as part of a group tour. We had a very small room with two single beds. There was not enough room for one suitcase, let alone two. The one window of the ground floor room overlooked the car park. It was therefore necessary to leave the blind down to have any privacy. The pillows on the beds...

The rooms in this hotel are very small. We booked a double and were put in a room with two single beds as they said everyone books doubles and they only have 3 of them. The room was quiet and clean.
