The Caravan club uses a category to describe sites that are useful to stay in overnight, but you wouldn't plan to stay anymore. This hotel falls into that category. Travelling to it through the extraordinary countryside Iceland offers you come to the pretty little village of Kirkjubaejarklaustur and you drive up to your allotted hotel to find yourself at something...

This was an extremely fast check-in, same as the other Icelandair hotels. We were given a room in the "outbuilding" which really doesn't look like much. But...we had views of some very pretty mountains and it was very new and clean. Really appreciated the heated bathroom floor! Great dinner -- they made a plan pasta dish for my young daughter....

Clean, comfy room. We opted to eat at the local gas station (very common practice amongst locals) as it was much better value than the hotel restaurant. Would recommend as a stop off when travelling round Iceland.

I would may stay here again if I came back. The hotel was well kept but it was missing a spa or hot tub which in an area of geothermal everywhere it was a disappointment. The staff was nice but the backpacks for the night visit to see the Aurora included tepid, weak hot chocolate, smallish blankets and lights that...

I was travelling with my friends on a low cost road trip, but after having some problems and without shower for one day already, we felt obliged to stop somewhere. We wanted somewhere cheaper but everything in town was closed and we didn't have energy to go to another city search. The hotel is a little bit expensive (and don't...

Stayed for a night in early March 2016. The hotel is modern and the rooms are comfortable and of good quality. Hotel restaurant has a good dinner menu with very good food quality and that also applies to the breakfast .

This was the largest hotel we stayed in on our trip and the only chain hotel, but it was pleasant, clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful, offering us the Northern Lights Wake-Up call......which they gave us later that night. The restaurant is a bit in need of updating and quite drafty if you're sat next to the...

This place was ok, though our room was a little hut out the back in what appeared to be a portakabin. The good rating is because the evening meal and breakfast were lovely, as were the staff. The room was also nice and warm

The hotel is near the countryside in Iceland. It is a quiet town near multiple active volcanoes. The folk story telling session is pretty good. We learned a lot about the culture and lifestyle of the people living there. The rooms were nice and comfortable. There is a wake up call for northern lights sightings and they serve hot chocolate...

Stayed for one night on a trip around the south of the island. The Rooms are of reasonable size and spotlessly clean. The evening meal we had was excellently cooked, tasty food. Though there was a restricted choice at breakfast, compared to other laces we stayed at. A Reasonable stop on any south coast trip.
