Such a beautiful hotel. And to walk right out of the hotel and have amazing hiking trails was spectacular! Would definitely recommend this hotel as a must in Iceland!! To be greeted with champagne and a wonderful staff was a great way to start the visit. Food was absolutely amazing. I would recommend at two or three night stay. We...

Great NY Times article led us to book the Ion Adventure Hotel, and I stupidly did not even look online to read reviews from real people. So I have no one to blame but myself. I was expecting a high end, cool design, luxury experience to go with the $500 a night price. Wrong. I should have suspected trouble when...

Stayed here recently on a business trip with a view to seeing the northern lights, really unlucky with the weather, it was cloudy, lashed it down and blew a gale, so obviously no norther lights. Hotel is funny in that some ways it's quite upmarket and other ways like a hotel. The rooms are fairly small but very cosy, bathrooms...

This was the most expected hotel in out Iceland trip but turned out the most disappointing. We have stayed in the deluxe room for one night. The price is luxurious itself but the overall experience is not. The hotel design is hip but the room is not practical and the size is as compact as those typical Japan hotels. The...

I am the girlfriend of the poster below who the management staff responded to on February 8th. I'll start by saying that yes I do have a medical condition and this was explained to the management staff in detail who, as you can see from the response below, was not sympathetic AT ALL and cared more about charging us for...

I wanted to start by saying my girlfriend and I came here with full expectations of having a great time and really looked forward to staying at this property. First of all, this is NOT a luxury hotel and the rooms are way smaller than advertised. All the rooms facing North have the smell of sulfur (rotten eggs) that the...

Dear Adam Thank you for the review. I have to say that it is exactly what I was expecting after our conversation yesterday. As clearly stated on our website and on all booking sites the hotel is located about 30-40 min drive away from the capital, therefore it is clear that there is no hospital close to the hotel. There...

The staff were amazing at the hotel, every person we encountered was so friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us! We did the horse riding excursion which was so much fun, well organised and a great experience! The food was amazing and so worth the cost. Everything about our experience here was incredible, from the rooms to the...

We stayed at the Ion Hotel because of its design awards and from the pictures we had seen of the hotel. The hotel has great design but i was underwhelmed after spending over $1200 to spend a nigh there. The rooms are very small and the bathroom even smaller. The staff from the bar to reception were very cold and...

Articles about the hotel in Travel and Leisure, etc do not tell the whole story. It is an unique setting, the bar is beautiful and the food is nicely prepared(for the 4 main dishes they offer) However, the room is REALLY small-NYC small. I had a facial & massage and my husband had a massage scheduled. The masseuse was over...

We got, what we came for: beautiful Aurora Borealis! In addition, the evening food is good - and being in the bar room is awesome! We stayed there for hours during the day and really enjoyed it. But, but but - why: - do they make so much light pollution that you have to walk half a mile from the...
