Julia's Guesthouse is ideal in the way that it offers peace, relaxation and recreation and it offers all travelers a good starting position for day trips in all directions, for example Golden Circle (the stunning Geysir, the amazing Gullfoss Waterfall, the famous National Park Thingvellir, and the almost hidden Volcanic crater Kerid), Reykjavik, Reykjanes peninsula, the Highlands pearl Landmannalaugar, several natural hot water pools as well as the Vestman Islands alongside the interesting south coast with Seljalandsfoss, Skogafoss up to the cozy town of Vik! Also the famous Laki-craters and the beautiful Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon are possible to reach from here! We are happy to help with the selection and planning of the many excursions. Around 12 km away from the Guesthouse is the town of Selfoss, where you have many shopping possibilities.
We had a great time at Julia's! It was verry cosy, animals all around and every morning a fresh egg with (warm) self bkaed bread. We had our own room with toilet, had tobshare the shower. Drank som beers with Mike (the soon "to be" husband of Julia. Super.

Julia's guesthouse was our first stay in Iceland. Own room with toilet and shared shower. It was very cosy and had drinks with Julia and Mike (who were getting married in two weeks)! Animals all around and every morning a fresh egg with our breakfast.

We were so happy at Julia's right away because of all the animals! We let one of the cats into our room and played with him for a long time. there was a chicken in the kitchen when we arrived! It was a close drive after doing the Golden Circle and we were greeted warmly by Julia. no, it's not a Hilton, lol but we wanted local flavor and that's what we got. The homemade bread was awesome and the price was decent. We would stay here again.

Julia and her partner Mike are very welcoming and open-minded hosts. The guesthouse is clean, well-equipped (loved the hair dryer and the shower) and you feel right at home. Breakfast is awesome with homemade bread and great coffee! You can cuddle a lot of animals and many attractions in South Iceland are close by. Definitely a great recommendation!

Where to stay in Iceland’s Southwest. If you’re looking for a place to stay having just arrived on Iceland’s airport Keflavik you will find Julia’s Guesthouse about 1 ½ hours drive, close to Selfoss. I can highly recommend the Guesthouse, because it is less a guesthouse but rather something like living with a family. The place is in a quiet and natural surrounding with animals, inside and all around the house. We all were treated as family. Every morning you get a rich breakfast, and a delicious evening meal. Incredibly special are the different kinds of homemade bread. Behind the house you find a hotpot to relax. And if you’re lucky you get a glass of whiskey from her husband’s exclusive selections of single malts. Thank you, Julia and Mike, for you care, help and friendship, while staying at your play.…

Yes, it's Iceland in March. It's cold, it's snowy and the Northern Lights may appear for you. This peaceful location can be reached from the airport in about 1 and a half hours by car. The innkeepers Julia and Maik were very friendly and hospitable. The cats are always looking for an opportunity to help you arrange your luggage, the home is a genuine, warm and welcoming nest. It is a good base for exploring the Golden Circle and other areas in southern Iceland. And, of course, there is an Eierschalensollbruchstellenverursacher, or, as I call it, an "Eierschalen- kaputt-macher." What? Do you have some other method for cracking your boiled egg shell? We were most grateful for this stay and most grateful to find our way home just a few days before the world started to shut down for the Coronavirus. And, for the record, the cats did help me photograph the northern lights. They seem to know these things. You probably don't need any more encouragement to go visit Iceland, but in case you do, here's some more: "Go see Iceland." There.…

Stayed for one night after a full day of driving , the place was well heated and warm after coming in from a day of rain and ice . Julia had breakfast waiting for us with smoked salmon! Her home was spotless with great Icelandic decor! The only regret we had was that we did not stay longer , I would recommend to anyone couples or families ! Thank you again Julia for our pleasant stay !

Julia was a lovely owner. Enjoyed the dinner we had booked with her and 4 other guests. Breakfast was yummy: dark bread, smoked salmon, 4 cheeses, many jellies, cereal. She also offered eggs. However, the best part for me was the chocolate almond coffee. Best coffee I had my entire time in Iceland. Only thing that would have made the visit better would be a private bath although it was not a problem since she had a full bath, then a shower room, as well as a room with a toilet for the guests.

Julia is a wonderful host. The guesthouse is inviting, clean, warm and charming. The food is fantastic! It was the best way to start our adventure in Iceland! She recommended a place to see that we hadn't thought of and it was wonderful. Such a lovely host and property! The horses were a bonus!
