A delightful, warm welcome from Angela. We stayed 3 nights to rest up at the end of a two week drive through Ireland. You can't beat it, for the price. It's not a 4 star hotel, but I find those stuffy. I don't like stuffy, so I stayed in B&Bs and enjoyed it. Anchor House was no exception. Angela (with... More

Lovely position and outlook over the River (tidal). Quiet little street so nice and quiet even with the Balcony windows open .. which we needed to do as was hot. Cute little Balconies on the two front rooms.Small room so only a small double bed and a teeny tiny bathroom but nice enough.Hostess ( Angela) said it was a bit... More

I stayed here a night on a bike trip round Mayo.It is the first B&B I've stayed in that was a business rather than someone's home. So a manager runs a small staff, and it gives it the feel of a small hotel. First the good things. It is in the lovely town of Newport, and on a lovely road... More

A very warm welcome from Angela, who greeted me with "tea or coffee?" A very clean and tidy B&B in a very nice location, overlooking a wide fast running river. Just one minute away from the town centre. Although I was booked in by my wife for a specific visit to the local bigger town of Westport, I would suggest... More

I was welcomed with a cup of tea and a roaring fire in the sitting room which overlooks the water. Anchor House has a lovely friendly atmosphere, I slept like a dream and had all that I needed. Would definitely recommend this BnB.

A fabulous B&B! I stayed in Anchor House B&B for a few nights last August 2015. When I first arrived I was welcome by a cup of tea and a very nice French lady. She took time to talk and to show me what I could do in the area. The room was clean and tidy. WIFI was available everywhere.... More

We loved our stay in this B&B, it is in a lovely location overlooking the river. There were lots of people out on the river enjoying some watersports on the day we arrived. We were welcomed by a lovely lady called Aisling and she gave us lots of information about the area. The rooms were nice and clean and homely.... More

I stayed at this B&B in July with my sister and, unlike other guests, I did not enjoy the experience. The bedroom was dated, the shower not very clean, and the mattress so uncomfortable I had to sleep with my duvet under, rather than over me. Although advertised, there was no T.V. in the room and similarly my sister's advertised... More

The Anchor House may have changed hands in the past year, but its still a great B&B. Its location, & accessability to Achill, Westport, Louisburgh, Belmullet to name a few is a real advantage. Aisling (manager) has a caring manner about her & is a mind of local interesting information while her assistant Lisa is a very efficient pleasant young... More
