This B&B is lovely, very comfortable and clean. Rosie, the hostess, is very kind and helpful and she makes the best full Irish breakfasts! The B&B is also closely located to the town. I can definitely recommend this B&B.
I stayed here for 4 nights on a B&B basis whilst visiting family in Monaghan. What makes this place really special is the lovely lady (owner) that looks after you during your stay. Despite not being in the best of health, she got up every morning to make our breakfast and could not have been more welcoming and friendly, typical Irish hospitality. My only negative (if i can call it that) is that i feel she needs more help around the property with housework and maintenance. If i were to stay here again, i would request the self catering flats as they are lovely and spacious with real coal fires and nice views of the gardens and lake. Thank you Rosaleen for a lovely stay.
My husband and I stayed in the self catering apartment for a week with our two children (3yr old and newborn). The place was perfect. The apartment had loads of space and everything we needed for our stay. The location was ideal. The lake is beautiful and it's a two minute drive into town. There's an outdoor space and small playground for children to play (which my 3yr old loved). We would definitely come back. The landlady Rosaleen could not be any nicer or more helpful. Great value. We definitely recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to stay.
Rosaleen's Lisanisk House was set on an amazingly beautiful and historic site in Carrickmacross, Ireland. We arrived later in the evening and were greeted warmly by her daughter who showed us to our spacious room with on- suite and got us all checked in. She took our order for breakfast and made sure we had everything we needed for the evening. We slept well in the large beds and had a lovely breakfast each morning. The owner Rosaleen was a very kind and generous hostess with lots of good conversation. She offered tips on what to see in the area and places to eat. She was also kind enough to set us up an appointment with a historian/genealogist to research our family history while we were there. The setting was lovely and tranquil. The gardens are beautiful. We had the opportunity to meet locals who were staying to fish the lake. Make sure to ask her about the history of the houses and the history of the lake (site of a McMahon crannog). We can't say enough of the kindness and generosity of our delightful hostess! She is an amazing lady and we now feel that we have a dear friend in her after just spending a few days. We would truly recommend her house to anyone going to the area.…
Checked in for 1 night, at last minute. Very reasonable price, made to feel very very welcome, and had a very comfortable nights sleep, nice shower in the morning. Breakfast was beautifully cooked and served by Rosaline, with cheerful chat, and good humour. Would definitely stay there again, you could not but enjoy or feel welcome. Thank you Rosie.
