The most wonderful wedding experience and stay at Markree Castle. Every detail was managed with care for my friend's wedding. The chapel was exquisite for a venue. Having the entire castle to ourselves was beyond belief. The food was delicious and the beverages abundant. The...More

Very impressive place to stay, newly refurbished, nice bedrooms and grounds. But beware, this is primiarly a wedding venue, so dont expect lunch or supper unless it is part of the wedding package. We arrived late at night, but no food around, so we had...More

What is the easiest way to get from Dublin airport to Markree Castle? I do not want to rent a car as I am concerned about driving on the left side of the road, as well as a gear shift that is "backwards" from what I am used to. I am looking at either a bus (via Bus Éireann) or a train (via Iarnród Éireann). Which is the better option (I arrive in Dublin airport at 11:45 a.m.)? For the bus, do I want to start at "Dublin Airport (Arrivals Road- Stop 1)?" And what destination would I want? The bus ends at 8 different stops. Do I want the "Bus Station?" Or some other end point, like Liscarney House? What departure point would I want if I take the train? What is the startng pint closest to the Dublin airport? Dublin Connolly? Someplace else? The train stops in Sligo, MacDiarmada. Is that what I want? Help, please! :-)
