Hello Patti B, I know the books you have read , The Ardmore Trilogy , I have had many guests stay here for the same reason . Ardmore is a beautiful place and ideal to use as a base , if you drive for one and a half hours you can reach places like , Kinsale, Blarney, Rock of Cashel , Waterford crystal , Hook Head and Lismore Castle . I know you said you prefer scenery but coming from Wexford/Waterford side you have the copper coast drive, a beautiful coast road . Coming back from Cashel you can come down through the Vee a beautiful mountain drive .Ardmore itself has a scenic Cliff walk , 5 beaches and a lot of historical sites , including a Round Tower dating from the twelfth century .
I hope this is some help and look forward to hearing from you
Kind regards , Jeanette
