iWe returned once more to the Al-Andalus for our September holiday and found it as welcoming as ever. However, obviously because of the crisis in Spain, there was a lack of staff. The staff there are all fantastic but were all trying to do more than their own job and this does not really work. The menu is needing a...

This hotel caters principally for coach parties and so mealtimes - especially breakfast - become something of a rugby-scrum as entire coach-loads of pele descend on the dining areas at the same time in order to eat before their coach departs. The management of the hotel is, at best, haphazard. Only one staff member appears to have been trained (the...

This establishment is value for money. But the rooms although kept very clean and comfortable, lack a measure of maintenance. We arrived to the room to find the wardrobe door hanging off on one hinge which fell completely off when touched. This must have been obvious to the cleaning staff and if reported to management should have been attended to before...

Let's start with the positives; this hotel kept our room clean and spotless. Beds comfortable and clean. Breakfast was ok but if you pay for half board it is hit and miss. Very greasy food one evening and lunch menu is reliant on your Spanish being good or the English interpretation of the waitresses. I have never been asked to...

As regular travellers to the Nerja / Almunecar areas we have stayed at various hotels over the past 18 months. We stayed for six nights nights last week at the Al Andalus whist waiting to move into a new home. Similar in many ways to the "exceptional" Hotel Casablanca in Almunecar the Al Andalus represents the good points of Spanish...

The Al Andalus in our opinion is a lovely small hotel with nice staff, if you dont mind being a 50 minute walk from Nerja or the beach,we did mind that though as we were informed by travel agent it was much closer than it actually was, dont even attempt to get to the beach in Maro which is were...

I, as most of you reading this, had come across quite a few of the reviews which put-down this hotel. If fact, if you disregard the ones where people have given it a one star due to petty things like 'the hair dryer isn't very good', there is hardly any bad reviews... And there is a VERY good reason for...

My wife and I have just returned from a very enjoyable ten day stay at this hotel,We found the staff very friendly even though most had a limited understanding of the English. On arrival we found our room to be very clean and comfortable and larger than expected with a welcoming bottle of water and bowl of fresh fruit and...

We came here for the 6th time and it just feels like going home. The owner and staff do everything they can for your comfort. Would recommend to anyone who does not want to go to a huge impersonal hotel.

We booked this hotel based on the price as we just needed a place to use as a base. We were pleasantly surprised! Out en-suite twin room was very spacious and had a separate room with bed settee, air conditioning and a fridge! We were aware that the hotel was quite far from the centre of Nerja and to be...
