We were underwhelmed by the welcome and the dubious behaviour of the bar staff. The lamb shank tasted fine...looked anaemic but OK. My partridge,in its stab vest of some sort of ham, was dry and tasteless. Way overcooked. The vegetables were an attempt at "al dente", but were just undercooked. Puddings were OK though. They seriously need to look at... More

We stayed for 2 nights on a Groupon deal. The owner didn't give the warmest of welcomes, he has a very brusque manner. He gave us our room key and directions to the room but no details of dinner arrangements or for the included prossecco and cream tea. Our room was basic but adequate for 2 nights. It was fabulously... More

Arrival - Manager/Owner ignored us and left a very hard working Polish lad to attend to us. Sparkling afternoon tea - asked the ignorant Manager/owner could we have this on the second day - told it's today, everything is today. The lounge was freezing cold, the arrogant owner/manager put fuel on the fire which dampened it completely, caused a lot... More

I read the previous poor reviews and was dreading coming but was prepared to be open minded however. The rooms need a re-vamp which is fair enough but the bed was broken my husband hardly slept because the mattress sloped.., he feared he would fall out! (Room 1) But apart from that the room was "ok" The food was ok... More

Unfortunately for us we didn't read the reviews before we stayed. On arrival our room was very cold so we spoke with the manager, who I have to say is one of the most unwelcoming, bad mannered, rudest people we have ever met. He informed us the heating is on a timer!!! We were booked on a Wowcher deal and... More
