Nestled within the beautiful Norfolk countryside, Congham Hall is a privately owned Georgian manor house situated 20 minutes' drive from the sandy beaches of the North Norfolk coast. A variety of market towns, nature reserves and the Queen's Sandringham Estate are also within a short drive. Each individually designed bedroom is very spacious offering extremely comfortable king sized beds and picturesque views across the estate. The team of award winning chefs create dishes using a wide variety of vegetables and herbs from the estate served in the Orangery restaurant overlooking manicured lawns and glorious parkland. For something a little more informal, indulgent afternoon teas are served in the lounge next to the cosy log fire. Set within 30 acres of wonderful parkland and extensive gardens, Congham Hall also boasts a croquet lawn and tennis courts. Congham Hall's luxurious Secret Garden Spa is where you'll find a stunning 12 metre pool, sauna, steam room, bio-sauna as well as an outside hot tub. You may also choose to unwind with one of the relaxing and rejuvenating beauty and massage treatments which will restore body and mind and leave you feeling completely revived.

A two night break here in mid-January is what I am about to review. First impressions as you drive through the entrance gate and along the drive are very good. A lovely looking hotel and grounds with mature trees. At Reception we received a nice warm welcome. We stayed in a

We recently had a Sunday overnight stay and what a treat it was. From the minute we walked in the main door we started to feel welcomed and relaxed. Sitting in one of the many lounge areas having our cream tea, which was delicious with some of the best scones I have tasted and I

I had Sunday lunch there with my wife as a pre-Christmas treat and it was rather splendid. Set in a rural location, the restaurant is smart and welcoming with excellent staff. The food was really good, not massive portions but really well cooked and very tasty. The desserts were

Can I go to lunch in my robe
I don't believe you can, lunch is served in the hotel restaurant so would assume there is a dress code. We had lunch at the end of our spa day so freshened up and got dressed before attending lunch, I don't recall seeing anyone in a robe at lunch either.

I cannot comment re the spa and deals but we went for a family party so had a room reserved for us. The grounds were certainly accessible to walk round. I would echo the jarcall's review re Snettisham and Sandringham, although if you're from Lynn, you know about them already, doubtless!! There are some nice walks around the area too - farm tracks and also Peddar's Way is not that far away.
