Visited for Sunday dinner, initially sat in one of the elegant and formal lounges for drinks before our meal then ate in the sublime setting of the main dining room; lime-washed panel walls, terracota pots of herbs and plants, glass bottles of olive oil and...More

We went to the "early sitting" for dinner and the whole experience was one of feeling rushed. We had only just got our cocktails (one of which was not what was ordered) and they asked us to go to the table. We had to order...More

A beautifully appointed luxury hotel. Excellent bedrooms with very comfy beds with crisp white bed linen and great bathrooms - ours had an enormous free-standing bath. On top of all this there is an eccentric twist to The Pig which we loved, especially in the...More

Such a shame how much this place has changed under new ownership. We first visited when it was Coombe House and were overwhelmed by the friendly staff, food, ambience (huge Christmas tree, log fire, resident cat), everything! We raved about it so much that our friends joined us for a meal there some months later. The lovely gentleman greeting us seemingly remembered us from our previous visit and made us all feel so welcome. The food, as we had told our friends, was fantastic and they were blown away by the whole evening - as they are 'foodies' we were so pleased they enjoyed it as much as us. We returned recently and weren't impressed. I think the change of the name to 'The Pig' resonates the standard to now expect. Alan Titchmarsh was dining there when we visited. I wonder if he still does?

Yes usually you can, and even if you don’t want to eat in the main resteraunt, there is a lovely old orangery that does light bites and freshly made wood fired pizza etc.
