The roast beef with trimmings was brilliant. Fish and chips just right. The cheddar soufflé was heaven. Absolutely not to be missed: sticky date pudding. A perfect, relaxing Sunday Lunch for our family, surrounded by other happy families, friends and couples enjoying a most delightful place. Must book in advance. Unconditionally recommended!

Tired of tables crowded together and disappointing food and poor service........this place will restore your faith! We sat in the garden with a stainless steel cafetière of coffee which meant it stayed hot, pancakes and a cooked breakfast with free range eggs and a waitress who came to check on us a number of times. Oh yes, they also have...

Stayed here with my boss last week. Lovely area. The hotel was bang on, none of your boring two up two down right by the motorway overnight stays. If you search around and are a bit brave you can find some proper places! Some communal areas looked a little tired decor wise but my room was great, very comfortable. Looking...

My husband and I wanted a cosy dog friendly retreat not far from London to go to for a few days. The Wheatsheaf was perfect! We couldn't have asked for any more. The place itself is beautiful. Very cosy and welcoming with lovely garden areas out back. We had a 'very good room' which was one of their dog friendly...

Our second family lunch here including recent Mothers Day, this was a Birthday lunch that took most of the afternoon up. Most welcoming staff knew of the birthday and began with a complimentary glass of bubbly each to start. The food was of exceptionally high quality and the service was outstanding from the young attentive staff. A quite brilliant place,...

Stayed here for one night midweek. Very pleasant place with off road parking at the rear. We were welcomed warmly and shown to our room without delay. The room was very nice, albeit a little small with no storage, which was of no consequence to us but may be an issue if you're planning on stopping longer. The bathroom was...

Lovely welcoming bar with two dining rooms leading off it. We ate in the left hand one, charming sophisticated decor, excellent friendly service and delicious food. Worth the drive up from Wilts. Can recommend the artichoke salad starter, really fresh.

We booked online for this pub meal - we did look at the reviews and thought as we were in the area we would spend a Saturday evening at the Wheatsheaf. The pub was really busy and the restaurant was really noisy despite there only being about 20 people in the room we were in. Maybe the acoustics could be...

My fiancé and I stayed at the Wheatsheaf Inn for two nights this week. On arrival we were greeted by very friendly staff and shown to our room, room 10. We were delighted with the lovely, spacious room we were given. The large bed was incredibly comfy and the bath along with a good range of toiletries was greatly appreciated...

This hotel and restaurant has clearly set high standards and does everything it can to meet them. On a recent birthday visit, my partner and I stayed in room 3, which although was cosy, had everything we needed. The staff were very accommodating and the room was clean and comfortable with some nice local products in the bathroom. Breakfast was...
