Well it was an unforgettable experience for 3 nights, spiders, moths, cobwebs, dripping hot tap, drawers with no handles, towels all ripped and torn, unsightly brown splashes down walls, linen that had never seen an iron. I have to add though it was the only place to stay near my son and wife, which, had it have been brought up to scratch would...

We urgently needed a one night stay in the local area. As it was short notice, this was the only room we could find- a twin en suite in an old coaching inn. On our arrival we went to the bar as there was no one at reception. We had to wait while the barmaid phoned for someone to come...

We stayed for 2 nights at the George and what I first thought was quaint quickly became shabby - the list of laughable things in the room included: - a radio alarm clock by the bed that was not plugged in as there was no plug available - an ornament that had been re-purposed as a window wedge - half...

Arrived at 9 to be told no more food service so ate elsewhere. Left at 7am before breakfast was served. Room size good, however tired looking, toilet pan dirty and seat broken. Shower was fine. Staff not very friendly or helpful. Parking not great as very narrow archway. Parked on roadside.

Was looking for somewhere to stay in Newent. Very strange place. No discernible staff on duty. Decided not to even attempt to stay there. Cannot review further than this but didn't get a warm glow. Moved onto Gloucester to find somewhere else to stay.

Had a lovely meal at the George tonight. Outstanding food from the new chef Shaun. The chef Is a real gentleman. We also visit to have a drink from time to time, the staff are always very friendly and atmosphere is great. We really recommend this pub :)

We stayed at the George just for one Saturday night as they had a band playing that we wanted to see with a view to book them for our wedding. Therefore we decided to stay at the hotel so we could have a drink and to make a evening of it. On arrival the entrance to the car park (if...

Lovely looking pub hotel. My room was nicely presented but my private bathroom was a walk down the corridor. In my view the room was large enough to have its own en suite. My room was above the bar, so therefore I didn't manage to get to sleep until 01.40 due to people still in bar. Breakfast whilst tasted nice,...

Booked overnight stay when attending nearby event, would definitely not return! Room ok, in need of updating, bathroom had leaky tap dripping all night. Had a meal in the bar, limited menu and noisy with a football game on, ordered 2 steaks medium rare but only 1 steak available, this was at 6.30pm on a Saturday so not as if...
