Really lovely British pub/hotel combination. Bar with open fire serving traditional food in a cosy wood panelled environment with the hotel comprising rooms above and also in the rear courtyard where a car park is also available. The hotel seems popular especially at weekends when people stay for family type events such as local weddings or christenings at the church...

Hotel provided a downstairs room for a disabled lady. In the courtyard, so accessible by car. Both rooms we booked were comfortable, warm and well equipped The staff although 'short' and under pressure were v. helpful. Breakfast was not included at £89 per room --- expensive for a town hotel.

We booked what was sold as an 'Exeutive Double Room'. On arrival we were told it was room 2 but there is no number on the door - it is between rooms 1 and 3. On entering the room it was a good size but it had a pull out bed. It felt like a general purpose room that was...

I have had the good fortune to stay in this hotel several times over the last two years with my wife in order to attend the local antiques auctions. On each occasion we have been impressed by the attentive nature of the staff. Without exception they have displayed those elusive qualities of being efficient and courteous whilst displaying a friendly...

stayed here for one night on business, room was clean, very dated but comfortable. certainly could do with a make over but for £50 inc breakfast it was fine. plenty of parking at back and outside the front. I would stay here again if in the area, free wifi was very hit and miss.

We went with our family for Christmas day lunch. There were a few nice touches such as home made biscuits individually wrapped for each person. The restaurant was nicely decorated and the food generally hot and tasty. The waiting staff did seem under pressure at times and even though I had ordered a gluten free meal in advance I was...

Stayed overnight for a work trip. The hotel is lovely and the bed was very comfortable. There were a lot of stairs and I did struggle to carry my case all the way to my room. The room was very spacious and clean. I would stay here again. Little touches like little bags of sweets in with the tea and...

Thank you for your review, It is always nice for the staff to see positive comments. I am disappointed that they didn't carry/offer to carry your bag for you. We like to offer little extras so you remember us. I hope to be able to welcome you back soon.

Our son booked us in the "Angel" for two nights, Xmas Eve and Day night. We had dined several times before at this hotel and loved the food. We checked in on Xmas eve afternoon and were directed to our room which seemed miles away, mainly because we are both disabled we had room 11 but were pleasantly surprised when...

I came here for a work trip and stayed a number of days. The staff here were always very accommodating and warm. The rooms were also very cosy and I loved the layout of the room I was given. It's Manager, Darren was very helpful not only with matters relating to the hotel, but also gave us a lot of...

Stayed two midweek nights for business and although the hotel needed some decorating, the staff, the food and the beer were particularly impressive. First night I was in an annexed room which was part of the converted stables. It was large, warm and pleasant, but vehicles drive past the front door to the car park, and that disturbed sleep from...
