Went to royal oak Inn (the splash) as we were in the area staying at the Best Western hotel in louth. The staff at the Royal Oak were amazing so helpful and polite, both my partner and me both ordered the steaks and forgot the sauces nothing was too much trouble as they soon helped and added on to our...

Got there at 2 and it was hugely busy, had to wait in a line going all the way through the restaurant. This was very inconvenient for the older couples in my family who couldn't stand for long periods. However once got the carvery unit after waiting 20 minutes, the good was all good and there was one vegetarian option...

Had a very nice meal here tonight, the staff were very friendly. I had curry and my other half had steak. He was very impressed with his steak and my curry was lovely. Will be returning soon on a Sunday to try the carvery!

Lovely pub in a fabulous setting. Parked up mid-morning and took the dogs around the village. Thrilled to find we could sit inside with our dogs and eat in the bar. Service was slow but it was worth the wait. Lovely freshly-cooked food. Fab bar service and an all round pleasant experience. Will be going again.

We visited here with friends, for the first time in three years. The ambience and the decor of the place are very good, with an old pub charm. The food was good pub grub. The service however, can be best described as poor. I am unsure, if they just do not employ enough staff, or if they are just badly...

We called in midweek, reasonably early in the evening. Low and behold we spotted several empty tables, however true to form there was no.room, odd that she didn't even need to consult the booking register. We could eat in the bar, if we wanted to fetch a menu and come back.with our order, wow thanks! On studying the same old...

We visited the Royal Oak the other day with relatives and had a thoroughly enjoyable lunch. Our meal selection was the Carvery, the meat was excellent and our only slight criticism was the lack of choice in vegetables. We dined in the Conservatory which was lovely on a bright, sunny day and cannot fault the service which was prompt and...

Well overall a lovely meal, nice place in a lovely setting, we went on a Sunday and was told they were just doing the carvery, a bit disappointing as I like to have a choice. Shame it was a bit noisy, could not hear my daughter over the table, the long table had a birthday party going on, not everyone...
