If you are considering booking this hotel for your stay then think no more, get it booked!!.....my partner booked this hotel as a surprise for my 40th birthday......every single detail was amazing from the minute we arrived to the minute we left, even the flowers and Prosecco he requested on arrival was no hassle, the flowers were just stunning!!. Such a romantic place, full of character and charm!....food was out of this world!! The service from staff was first class, especially from the receptionist/waitress I think her name was Elaine, full of so much cheer!......nothing was a bother, felt very welcome!....oh and did I mention the food?.....the best of quality and cooked to perfection!....so much to do in the surrounding areas as well. We will 100% be staying here again!....thank you so much for making our weekend so amazing!…
We had a very enjoyable 5-night stay in September. Staff were consistently friendly and attentive. We ate breakfast and usually dinner at the hotel, and the quality was excellent. Very good covid precautions (staff & guests wearing masks when required, lots of hand sanitiser, one-way system).
I feel compelled to write a review after staying the other month. I booked our stay based on the glowing reviews everywhere, but I don't know what happened for our stay - we were so disappointed with our room, so much so that we checked out early. We did stay one night, because it was too late to go somewhere else. The staff were wonderful, really friendly and kind and we had a good evening meal in the bar, but the room just wasn't clean and was SO scruffy and dated! The windows were thick with mould and wouldn't open (this was during Covid) I ended up using a not very clean mug from the tea tray to prop it open to air the room, the bathroom really was not very clean at all - it was all very superficial. Everything in the room was stained - splashes up the TV, manky bedding, a filthy armchair. Given all the current Covid restrictions, we didn't feel very 'safe' in the room. I could go on, but I won't. On a separate note when we arrived there was a massive pile of dog poo outside the entrance (not the hotel's fault i know) but then as we walked in there was a huge catering pump of hand sanitiser which was empty. Not a great first impression. We also found it odd that we were able to go inside the bar area and order our own drinks from the bar - thought it was table-service only during the current restrictions? I don't like to leave negative reviews, but felt like I needed to share our version, which is really quite different to that of other reviewers. I don't want this to reflect badly on the staff we met while we were there, as they were lovely, but based on our experience there's a desperate need to inject a bit of TLC and give the rooms a deep clean (well certainly the one we stayed in)!…
Stayed overnight in this delightful hotel. Everyone of the staff are lovely and very helpful. We had dinner/breakfast and food was delicious. The rooms are bright, clean and bed was very comfortable. Lovely outdoor seating and short stroll into town. I highly recommend and look forward to going back.
Visited this hotel twice during our break. All the staff were great, so friendly and accommodating. It’s a family run hotel who prize their staff and it shows with the standard of the service. Food is fab, freshly cooked, steaks were especially a stand out but it was difficult to choose when everyone’s was so good. We will certainly be back. Check it out folks.
