Stayed here one night before taking the ferry to Stornaway. Check in was easy and the person was pleasant. Room was a good size although very basic. Bed was too soft. The room seemed clean. The worst part of the one night stay was the shower. There was plentiful cold water but just a trickle of hot water. I ended...

Ullapool is a terminal for the ferries going to the islands, and our impression of the town was that it was on "hard times" We arrived at the hotel around 4:30, and wanted to have a look at the shops, but found that the vast majority of them had closed at 4:30. It seems that the Caledonian Hotel is suffering...

Such a shame could be very very good considering the location.Bespoke hotels need to invest in the building and a decent chef. All customer facing staff are great taking into account the shabby product they are expected to promote. Tinned food for dinner is not acceptable when 3 courses cost £18.95.Shortly closing for the season hope the powers that be use...

Room decent for what you pay. DO NOT eat here at night.Limited menu and when it came it was all from a can, disgusting! Fair play to them tho they refunded it all. Chicken on the bone, carrots etc all from tins! Staff friendly and very helpful! Breakfast was decent enough.

It was a disaster, they simply take advantage that Ullapool is one of the place you almost "have to spend a night" during, your Highland trip. The staff was not really friendly, the rate way too high, and my room was a joke (i have seen bigger shoe boxes). Stay at one of the B&B, MUCH better!

I stayed here in August for one night on a short tour of the west coast of Scotland. I has a small single room that was quite basic, but the room rate was very good value. I ate out in the Town, which has some really nice Restaurant's. I would stay here again as it is good value for the...

Good all round Hotel, whilst not fancy, very pleasant and welcoming. Food was good and plentiful, all in all a very enjoyable stay. Prices were reasonable and good value all round. Would certainly stay there again. Our room had beautiful view of the surrounding hills and the Stornoway Ferry.

Breakfast was top quality help yourself buffet, cereals, juices, full Scottish cooked breakfast also, served by courteous staff in a pleasant bright dining room. Whilst travelling around Scotland, we called in at Ullapool and asked in the Caledonian if we could book for one night. The staff were extremely polite and we were given a room, with breakfast and evening meal for a very reasonable price. The room was comfortable although on the second floor with no lift, however, as it was only one...
