I booked 1 deluxe room with a bath. Didn't get the bath so asked to change for a deluxe with a bath. They moved us into a standard room with a bath. When we got into bed we realised it was broken and struggled to sleep. In the morning we went to ask for some money back as they down graded us to an economy room and tried to convince us it was a deluxe room they moved us into. Liars they also accepted a booking for a single economy, dog friendly room which they gave to us. We didn't recieve any money back for downgrading us instead they offered us 25% off our next stay. Once home we recieved an email saying that they have taken back the 25% for dog paw marks on the bed. It is not a dog friendly hotel, they don't allow dogs anywhere but in the room then when the dog leaves a mess because stuck in the room, you get charged. Spa is lovely and separate from the hotel would recommend a day at the spa but not the hotel.

Lovely spa works to a lot you in even when it’s last minute, friendly and accommodating staff, nice food, exceptional view, what else would you want? Well, to top it off it’s not overpriced. The staff in particular in the restaurant were nice and professional which to us, is VERY important.

We book two rooms for a weekend stay. One accessible room and an economy room. We asked for them o close to each other so we could help the parents. The rooms could not have been further apart. The accessible room was large and comfortable, with a spacious accessible bathroom. Hoever the bath room smelled of drains and the shower has an almost invisible glass screen - rather dangerous imho. The other room was small and dingy. I wasn' t expecting a sea view, but nither was I expecting a view of a balnk wall 6 foot ahead. The decor is tired asn really could do with a refresh. I could tell if there was enough room to swing a cat in the bath room as the cat wouldnt have fitted in there with me. I would rather stay in a Travelodge - at least know know what you are getting adn the proce is appropriate. Dinner on Friday night was extremely unpleaseant due to the unbearable noise in the restaurant. it was more like being in a school canteen than a 'luxury' hotel. That said, the food was delicious - really couldn't fault it. We had also booked dinner for the Saturday night but cancelled and found a lovely pub across the river. It was a nice weekend given the scenery, being with the folks, and the pub on Saturday. But the hotel itsef; added little to the experience. Will possibly go back, as it it convenient and well situated, but will definitely dine out.

Dear Nigel, Thank you for your feedback on your stay, we are sorry that your visit fell below expectations on this occasion. I have been able to review the booking being made as calls for training purposes and can confirm that the request to have the rooms near each other was not made. Had we been made aware of this request, we would have been more than happy to accommodate your needs. Our colleague did describe he accessible room to you in detail and that the economy room was our lowest priced non sea -view room, which you were happy with. We are pleased to see that you enjoyed your dinner in our restaurant and will certainly take your comments onboard with regards to dampening the noise down. Kind Regards The Cliff Hotel & Spa

Visited with my 2 sisters on 16 November for afternoon Tea. To say we were disappointed was an under statement. We had ordered 2 traditional teas to share between 3. That was fine it wasn’t necessarily the quantity but the quality of the food. The finger sandwiches, cheese, ham and smoked salmon ( made from cheap white sliced bread) were rather boring The Welsh cakes were like cardboard, tasteless and uncooked in the middle. The quiche was cut in half to share. And the macaroon and meringue were no bigger than a 10p. It was definitely not worth the £18.95 for each tea.

Dear Anne, Thank you for your feedback on your visit, we sincerely apologise that you found your afternoon tea to be disappointing on this occasion. Following your comments we will immediately start serving he quiche whole, rather than sliced. The macaroons are of a standard size and the meringues are at least three times the size of a 10p. Please do let a member of the team know of any issues om the day and we will always do our best to resolve this for you at the time. Kind Regards The Cliff Hotel & Spa Team

Lovely hotel and spa. We originally booked two nights but enjoyed so much we booked a third night. The staff were overall pretty courteous, helpful and polite. Our executive room was a nice size and the bed comfortable. The bathroom needed a little tlc though. (Black grouting and cracked tiles) Our evening meal was very good and breakfast plentiful. The dining and lower bar areas were bright and airy and tastefully decorated and furnished and offered lovely views across the estuary and cliffs. We enjoyed some great walks along the cliffs and coves just below the hotel. The scenery is just outstanding there. A great spa on site with a pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone.
