The Tara Hotel and Restaurant, owned by Steve and Pam Fensome, exudes a very homely and friendly atmosphere where guests are made to feel welcome whether their stay is for just one day or for longer. All are treated to the same warm hospitality. The Tara is close to the Stena ferry port (gateway to southern Ireland), the town centre and the Pembrokeshire National Coast Path. The north Pembrokeshire coastline and surrounding countryside offers some outstanding scenery and is ideal for walking holidays. Our guest rooms are all en-suite and have colour television and tea and coffee making facilities. We have one single room, two double rooms, one twin room, a triple and two family rooms, the largest of which has commanding views over the bay and ferry port and will accommodate up to 4 people. There is a private car park at the rear. The open plan restaurant, bar and lounge area has been designed to create a delightful 'homely' atmosphere.

Detailed Reviews
Stayed while on a cycling trip. Excellent helful and friendly owners who provided an excellent breakfast. Our problem was the badly designed room and the many safety hazards with objects sticking out all over the place to bang your head on.likewise the tiny bathroom and the holders on the inside of the door. Another issues was that there that we were not allowed to put our bikes away in the shed. We suspect that this was because people went in there to smpke.
Would definitely not recommnd.

Located overlooking the Ferryport. A charming Victorian terraced house. A traditional seaside B&B with a clean comfortable room, providing a quiet nights sleep. A view across the bay from the window. Private parking provided at the rear of the premises. Wifi worked well. The host was very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast with cooked options included. If you have mobility problems it may be wise to contact the owner as the stairs to the top floor are quite steep. A perfect location for the Ferry. Cannot fault the service we received.

Only stayed the one night, but found the place exactly what we needed. Within walking distance of everything you’ll want.
We found Steve incredibly welcoming and helpful - giving us some great advice on what to do when we were there. Breakfast was great with lots of options.

As a shopfitter travelling across the country I have stayed at a lot of places.
Tara hotel is definitely one of the better ones. Nice friendly people, clean and tidy rooms and an excellent breakfast at a very good price.
Will definitely use again when next in this area and recommend to others.

I stayed at this hotel on the night of 31st of December and it was really friendly Steve and Pamela are really welcoming when you arrive to the hotel. When I woke up in the morning the breakfast was too hard to rate because it was that brilliant with lovely cooked eggs and bacon. With fresh coffee when you request it. The bedroom it's self was snug and warm wish I didn't have too leave it because it was that warm. I would like you wish you the best for the new year and hope too stay at your hotel next time I am down visiting friends.

My friend and I had to stay in Fishguard overnight and chose the Tara Hotel. I feel I must comment on the hotel in this time of austerity.
For the money we paid it suited our needs. Very welcoming and comfortable with a very pleasant host. The breakfast was cooked well and good produce used. Thankyou.

We stayed here one night after arriving on the ferry (a brief taxi ride away). Steve was very friendly: helped us carry our bags upstairs and arranged for our taxi in the morning. The room was small but very cleverly designed and clean. The bed was the most comfortable of our three-week car trip around the country! Breakfast was included and was very tasty, featuring Portuguese custard tarts and yummy homemade orange marmalade.

Stayed here earlier this month with my cousin. They weren't very busy but i guess thats due to the season. Our room was clean and had everything you would need. My only note would be that we found it hard to keep the temperature in the shower constant. But that's only a minor problem. The breakfast was more than enough, and we were even asked what time we want it to be ready! Again they were very friendly and hospitable, were eager to answer anything and to help with anything! I would recommend it to anyone who wants somewhere friendly and cosy to stay while in the area!
