Charming hotel from a bygone era before the slightly sanitising effects of the growth of chains! Staff were friendly and the hotel itself is nicknamed the "Big Green Monster" which enchanted the kids. There is a really modern fitness suite and small but pleasant swimming pool and hot tub which are free to use for guests. One word of warning...

We paid to upgrade to superior double room but we were a little disappointed. It was clean and comfortable but not particularly but felt a bit cramped. The separate desk area may be good for business travellers but as a couple we would have preferred more usable space in the room. Our room 122 had very high windows and as...

originally we went into Hotel for a cream tea but I thought a little pricey for me. Decided to have something off the special boards and told that I couldn't as they stopped serving hot food at 14.15. It would of been helpful if they had written that on the board or simply taken board down as I spent ten...

Stayed here on a short coach holiday with Majestic. A four star hotel which lives up to the rating and with a sense of history. Very friendly helpful staff. Large comfortable public rooms and an enclosed veranda. Hotel clean throughout.Large modern well furnished bedroom and bathroom. The latter generated the only niggle in that the light and extractor fan responded...

We've stayed here a number of times over the years, and enjoyed once again the superb food included in our mini-break. Excellent attention from the staff - especially Kristina in the restaurant. Our slumbers were disturbed about midnight when the alarms went off. Not particularly enjoyable, but very re-assuring to see the competent and organised way the staff marshalled us....

As the promoter of a motor club weekend tour of mid Wales, it's refreshing to have an organisation that understands the requirements of a motor club and is completely cooperative, going out of its way to make life easy for us. From the moment we first enquired about reservations until the time we all checked out at the end of...

What a fantastic hotel. Rooms were clean, bright & modern. Staff were very helpful & friendly. Food in restaurant was first class with excellent well timed service. Spa facilities were comprehensive & spotless. Ample car parking. If you are looking for a quality hotel in mid Wales you will struggle to better this one. Only slight gripe is the late...

Very, very old and dated. Room quite small. Clean but tatty. Beds clean and quite comfortable. Sorry but n no way is this 4 star. Looks great on photo. Could not see out of window as so dirty - probably on the outside but not good. Everything needed a lick of paint but preferably complete refurb of rooms. Very expensive...

Both myself and wife spent 1 night here. The room was clean with all facilities, excellent service, and, food. The only draw back, was that the dividing wall between our next door occupants, was very thin, this meant we could hear conversations from the occupants in the next room. The bathroom facilities looked recently updated.

Stayed here for our 25th Wedding Anniversary recently. I had booked one of the tower rooms and was not disappointed. The room itself was bigger than normal, but the tower lounge made it really special. We ate in both the brasserie & the main restaurant and I would recommend both. The buffet breakfast was more than adequate as well -...
