The Estancia La Quinta was a beautiful estancia in the beautiful town of El Chalten in the Fitz Roy region. The owners, Alfredo and Patricia, were incredibly friendly and had great knowledge of the history of the region (as Patricia's family were some of the first settlers in the region). Rooms were very comfortable and the food was excellent. Hiking...

Yes it is an estancia, yes the room are clean and more comfortable than albergues of downtown el Chalten... but : For 170 dollars (!!!) per night, I expect more, much more. The estancia is located a couple of kilometres away from the main village Chalten but I was happy to stay away from the crowds...

I stayed at La Quinta for 4 nights in november 2007 as part of a 2 week trip to Patagonia using simularly priced accomdation and this was by far the best place I expereinced. The hotel is located about 2-3 km's outside town which does mean you'll need to get a taxi at the start/end of each day if you...

I came back a few weeks ago from El Chalten, we stayed there only two days, definitely not enough time to see so many wonderful things it has to offer but we had an amazing experience. We went with my boyfriend and his family from United States; we wanted a more local experience. La Quinta is one of the oldest...
