Bad service, reception staff with attitude problems, no hot water, power problems, A/C only works if the owner decides to turn on the power. The list with reasons for not staying there can be long. Bad breakfast with very limited menu. One pinapple even if you slice it in thin slices is not enough for 40 people. Only positive is...

Once you get over the lovely grounds reality sets in. The food is absolutely bad. Same boring buffet every morning for breakfast. And not very tasty either. Even the coffee is weak. The staff is friendly but not real helpful. Forget about getting repairs done. The rooms are small and rather spartan. If your lucky you will get a room...

The hotel is hidden in Hanga Roa, having no sign identifying it and accessed by a narrow lane that introduces you to lovely plantings on well groomed grounds. The rooms range from those with air conditioning that works and windows that have screens to air conditioning that does not work and windows that do not have screens. Some of the...

Hotel O'tai is well-located, just a very short walk to the waterfront and to the main street and restaurants. The garden is beautiful and restful, making for a nice place to take it easy before and after tours around the island. Beds are comfortable although the rooms are rather small. We arrived very early in the morning on the flight...

After the long travelling south of Santiago and mostly all national parks to Punta Arenas I´ve visited Easter island. Hotel O' tai was like a paradise after different hostels and hotels. Beautiful garden - full of flowers was like a dream in the short stay on the island. Only Atakana beach was in the level of this garden. Inside of...

On this island, I feel there are 2 classes of hotels - high end and decent end. This is the decent end sort. It has a good location and you could easily walk to the restaurants as well as to the coast to walk around. The rooms were standard and clean and frankly, that was the most important thing for...

Excellent location, close to the main street, the artisan market, the beautiful ocean view, and excellent restaurants. Beautiful garden with exquisite flowers - very soothing and relaxing just to look and photograph the hotel garden. Good service, although breakfast could be more fit to the number of guests - some guests do get hungry and after 9 am some items...

I stayed five nights at the Hotel Otai on Easter Island. The hotel is well located right in the center of Hanga Roa, the only town on the island. The little post office is just across the street, and it’s wonderful to view the sunset over the Pacific Ocean, only one block away. My room was quite simple, but certainly...

First you've got to put lodging on a remote island in perspective - there are no 5 star hotels with all the amenities. If you're looking for that, you probably shouldn't be trekking to Easter Island to begin with. Hotel O'tai offers nice, clean rooms, with a clean bathroom, immaculate grounds, and a can't-be-beat location right in the heart of...
